Hi guys! I've been asked to make a logo for a friend's association project, focused on promoting local arts, culture and tourism. They're just at the beginning; they don't even have a name yet. It didn't help as I didn't know where to start from. I was thinking to make it with inks and watercolors, or simply drop some colours in PS. I'm not sure about the fork (I thought food could represent local traditions/habits). Any help/critique will be most welcome.

I know this is a bit 'tut tut' but sort of go along with the theory that for learning it is ok (once working we can buy professional packages), but does anyone know the best place to get a free version of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I have windows vista and 32bit system. Thanks in advance

Hi. I'm not a graphic designer, just software developer with some taste in graphic. I'm designing logo for my application. I'm looking for a font to do the script in logo. I'm not looking for specific font, rather than suggestion of what font might fulfill my criteria. I need italic serif font, that has all lines the same thickness. Please have a look at my most recent logo, I have not been able to spend any time on this project for a couple of months but would love your feedback on what I have here. The vintage look is there for presentation only, I have not actually decided if its something I would keep to or not. After the last review I had, I determined that the message i was trying to convey was too complicated, so in this logo I decided to simplify it, using the letters of the name I decided to lean towards showing balance in design by putting the flask on the "L".

Hi Forum, I was wondering if I could get your personal and professional opinion when it comes to branding? I am a Realtor with a company, Keller Williams, who's main color is red. To differentiate myself from other Realtors, with Keller Williams and other competing brokerages, I'd like to stay away from the typical colors - red, black, grey and white. Being in a saturated market, it's important to be different. Thoughts on this combination? Thanks in advance!

Hello. I have problem with my bg image - when using firefox it's darker on linux than on windows. However chromium browser showed it correctly. http://autoit.net.ee/pub/theme/new/bg2.png could it be some adobeRGB stuff or what causes that?

A friend of mine asked me if I could do him a gig poster for an upcoming event. I'm a web designer (or so I claim - aha) and so graphic design is not my forte. Luckily enough I feel competent enough in Adobe Fireworks to have a play around - I came up with something... do you think it is too simple?

In GIMP there was this option that allowed you to set up a grid and divide the page. But in Photoshop, I can't figure it out, I'm really struggling with photoshop. I want to print these meritocracynow.net stickers, how many do you think I should print out per page and how do I divide them? Oh and by the way do you think they are good?

I have recently created some stickers in GIMP to send out to people in the UK so that they can send them to people around them. I want to get the message across of this party to as many people as I can so I'll be printing off around 500 stickers, sending them in the post to anyone that is willing to pay a small fee for them, I'd say about £3 - £4. I have these .png images that I made, they are stickers for the meritocracy party as I'm selling them off to people around the world, well I'm trying to make a sheet of stickers that I can print off and then use a guillotine to divide them, there are 16 meritocracy stickers on each page, well when I copy them onto a new a4 page it makes them blurred, originally they are quite clear but I can't figure out how to copy them without blurring them. And by the way, how would I ensure that the quality was to the max when printing them? I'm trying to design this flier for a political party that is going to be sent around the place, in order to be kept up around busy areas in the UK it will need to seem as if it's something legitimate and not anti-establishment, they will be taken down if seen as anti-establishment, anything that seems as if it's an official flier from the government will be kept up, anything that isn't will be taken down, so what they said for me to do is to take fliers and edit them, insert your own text but introduce meritocracy to the general public. Hi I am trying to make gradient border that is blue outside and white inside. Basically what I need is innerglow but there is problem that inner glow does has only effect on dark colors but inner shadow has angle which renders it useless for me because I need it to be gradient from each side equally. Basically I want something like this attached image (with out that extra white on corners, it's just problem of MS paint) with transparent corners. Basically my question is how to I create dark inner glow on white shape?

Genre : HipHop. Colors for the logo and then using the same colors for the website, with a lot of white added on the website. I was thinking blue yellow. I read multiple sites about what colors mean. I want your general advice. Another thing I noticed the La Lakers got a purple yellow combo which is very unqie and works. Hi, I am learning Poster designing in Photoshop. Almost all the tutorials say to do in CMYK color mode. But when I start designing in CMYK mode, all the colors look faded as compared to RGB mode. As a result while designing in CMYK mode, I can't understand what actual color will be there when printed out since every color is so faded & dull looking especially the Red and Blue colors. Again if I design in RGB mode and try to convert it to CMYK mode, the whole thing becomes s**t. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I'm currently designing the 'print media' for this client - I'll also be involved in the web design in collaboration with the developer. This company is an amalgamation of two experienced and successful engineering organisations with a common goal. Hello all! I am working on a furniture ecommerce site and someone pointed out an issue that I wish to ask you guys for a solution on. The store will be selling sofas and they come in 100's of colors. The issues is that on each monitor the colors can look different from what they are in real life, so someone might buy a sofa and be disappointed when they receive it IRL, especially if its a princely one. Now I am sure there are ways this can be fixed.. are there any software that fixes this? Any solutions to bring CSS colors to real life?

Hello, Adobe Photoshop wont open any files what so ever. Its been working fine last week when I used it but now ti wont open any files no matter which method I go about to opening a file. Ive tried .uninstalling and reinstalling .upgrading to cs6 .ctrl +alt shift as you open the program to clear prefrences any other ideas to try out? if all else fails my last option is to try the creative cloud version and see if that works.

The background is I'm trying to come up with a more relevant and updated look for the printing company I work for. The logo will be used for an updated website as well (if I can convince management). Version (1) represents the four colour printing process in an abstract form, showing 3D blocks (enlarged half-tone dots) in a neat and clean form with effective use of typography and colour.
