What sort of resolution should I be using when creating these elements in photoshop?

Hi, Another question that really sounds like I have no idea about web design but here it goes ... I have logo which I would like to add motion to when they click on it. Say a visitor to my website are submitting a search and the logo is clicked and it moves whilst the results are loaded. Is it complex or relatively simple to to add to design ? I just want to give the logo more features because basically it very cool and should have a little bit more functionality to it. Cheers, P

I'm looking for an idea (or even better - realization ) to make the following background more compatible with transparent banners (image of boots with text in this example): As you may see, dumbbell is dark grey, surrounded with too bright colors. This makes text hardly readable, so in my opinion, there should be less contrast difference. I'm not sure what are the viable options here, perhaps you might have any nice ideas? Thanks! Here is the source background: http://shrani.si/f/2U/12C/2yxAUglq/istock000004112327medium.jpg And that's how website will roughly look like (with different background amongost other things of course): http://journal.digital-at…

Hi, I am working for a new brand called "Streambox". Streambox will be a online retailer, who will sell consumer electronic products. They would like to sell high end products like Iphones, Playstations or Jawbone speakers. Please give me your opinions about 5 type fonts that I selected for this job (numbered from 1 to 5), and tell me your two favorite fonts. I didn´t use any order of preference for this fonts. Hi and Thankyou for reading my problem. I have someone who would like me to take inspiration from what I think looks like an animated banner and create one for their website. The website with the example is at www.rmcdowell.co.uk Halfway down the page there is a looping animation with photos fading in and out. My question is, which program would be best used to create something like this? Thankyou

I have a scorpion which I want to make it more perfect and simple. pls see attached pictures. my expectation is the joints of scorpion could be more obvious, at least when it becomes small the joint could be saw perfect the joints. the strokes no more than 3, at this moment too many strokes, combine the leg, head, claws together like the body only solid color could show a vivid animal, the leg is something that I don't have a better way to deal, if make it in solid color, it will be not vivid. it's better that show some aggressive, the claw could be more sharp and narrow than round one. here is the example of one stroke I don't know I ask too much, and I think this…

Unfortunately I'm graphicly disabled and I'm trying to design a logo for my new forum. I've created a logo with an online logo maker but it wants $40 for it, which as a student, is no small amount, especially since I will probably need to modify it to a white version as well at a later date. I was hoping someone here could reproduce it for me with a transparent background (see attached). I would be very grateful. I would like the space inside the speech bubbles to remain white though, not transparent. If you require some form of payment, I would be happy to provide it if it's reasonable. Thanks.

When designing websites in Photoshop, i get stuck when it comes to border colour and fill colour of layers in comparison to the background. For example here. I've added 2 white layers. If the layers had a border colour, should it be darker than the background? Shall the fill colour be darker than the border? here is an example of how my designs usually turn out. This doesn't seem very professional to me. Can anyone point out the flaws in my design in regards to spacing, border colors & fill colors? I just need to get a foundation on how to do layouts with colours. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, After using only free fonts I am now considering using paying fonts for a client of mine. But I realize that although free fonts can be tested at will on one's website, that's not possible with paying fonts. So how do people deal with this problem? There will be countless cases where a font looks good on the font's site, but then once installed on one's website it doesn't match it so well. Do you just request a refund or something? What is you want to try 2 or 3 paying fonts before choosing the one that best fits your website?

Hi All, I have been asked by a close friend to design their wedding invitation. I was hoping some one on here may have or know a place of good reference images. They want a 'James Bond' inspired wedding. Black and White with a hint a Fuchsia Pink. I am trying to find this image which I think would work really well. Sadly drawing from blank is not my strongest point, but drawing from a reference is. I am trying to find an image of a man and woman with their back to each other with her having a flowing dress and him in a tux! Preferably as a silhouette. Anyone know of where I could find an image like this?! Very new to designin…

Here’s a cute little resource for all you web and app designers. I’ve created a set of icons in Blender 3D and exported them as PNGs with transparent background. The Icons rotate on their own axis on hover. Every PNG contains a “normal” and a “hover” version and the position gets changed by CSS alone (no scripting needed). The “dull” grayscale allows you to colorize the icons to any color tone you wish using Photoshop or Gimp, while maintaining the value information. Eventually I will make the 3D objects themselves available for download. Download/Demo Page:

Dear forum experts, I finally decided to have my logo re-constructed but the new image in PNG just won't show up on the browser. Can somebody kind enough to advise me what's wrong with the attached logo? I suspect the designer needs to do some formatting in illustrator before giving me the PNG file right? And the worse thing is that the image shows the jagged parts again which was the reason I wanted it re-constructed. As I'm not trained in graphic design, I hope somebody can tells me how to resolve the above. Many thanks.

Hi forum members, I would like to find out whether using illustrator, one is able to create the image in the size wanted in terms of pixels e.g 281 px by 80px ? The reason why I asked is because the graphic designer engaged just couldn't give me the size in 281px by 80px and needs to create it in cm. So, no choice, I researched on the web what the cm is for the px above and gave him the cm equivalent dimensions. But, it turns out that the image is not appearing the browser and wonder if this is the cause of the problem. Hope to hear the expert's view. Thanks again.

This is a logo I've created for a new website idea that I think is quite unique. I'll be spending the next few months coding it with my mate. I'm more of a coder than a designer but here's the logo that I've created for the website. I will also note that the website idea will require users to think. Thus I decided to incorporate thinking bubbles with the dot on the "i". Here is the website: http://www.gikiy.com/ I'm still unsure of whether I'm happy with the huge amount of fading. I'm also not happy with the text but I'm not much of a writer so I'll get my mate to re-write it. All comments are appreciated Thanks J

Dear reader, For a website redesign I need to draw a scheme (a kind of flow chart) with arrows, clickable subjects and some illustrations like waves. The end result should function as a top level website menu, and when a visitor clicks on a subject the top menu should change (to show where the visitor is on the website). What is the best software to create the drawings I need? I am familiar with CorelDraw, but have an old version not suitable fot webdesign. Should I update, or choose another (Adobe?) product? Already familiar with Dreamweaver. Thanks a lot for all your suggestions! I am familiar with website coding (php, css, mysql) but not with the de…

Hi there, I've found several websites online that can "cartoonize" an image. They work like a charm! My only problem is that they automatically reduce the resolution of the original image by almost half. I really need this image to be in high definition! I have attached the original image and the cartoonized version to show what I'm aiming for. If someone could cartoonize this image in high def I would be for ever grateful! Alternatively, if someone could show me how to do this myself in GIMPshop, I would give it a go. Thank you for your time!

Hi there, I am hoping some one will be able to help me. I am changing the colours of a client's website for them in a PSD layout. I have all the files but I cannot for the life of me seem to edit any of it. The client has managed to do it so I am not sure what I am missing. When I select an item within a layer and try to edit it I just get the "the content is not directly editable". It's driving me insane, please can someone tell me where I am going wrong Thanks in advance :-)

I've found an image on google that I really want to use as a background on a website: http://www.wallchan.com/images/wallpapers/1375-black-intricate-tiger-pattern-wallpaper-wallchan-1920x1200.jpg I've done a few searches for the image and all the results are 'Desktop wallpaper' websites. I'm going to edit it, but don't want to get screwed if I don't ask for the right permission. I'm happy to pay for the correct licencing if I can find it! Anyone got any ideas what I can do, or where I may be able to legitimately acquire a licence? Thanks! Gareth

I've just been working on an owl logo for a company and I'm unsure as to how I'd like to improve it from where I currently am. Colours etc haven't been done yet. Just looking at the frame etc. Here's what I've done so far: I'm just not sure whether it looks like an owl yet or whether it just looks like a bundle of blocks. Please could you pass on your thoughts? Thanks!
