hello and good evening 🙂 i want to dive into the use of either figma or Penpot. well some friends of me - have told me that they use figma - and that they are very very satisfied with it. Note: they even run this on Mobile-phone. The main advantage i see here - is that the design work can be colaboratively extended - in other words: if i work on a template - i can ask others what they think about it - and besides this - i can furthermore invite them into the process. questoin: did you ever thought of going into this direction - did you ever muse bout starting with such a tool - either figma or penpot, which is the free and open-source alte…

Now that the dust is beginning to settle around Adobe's recent Terms of Use drama - what are your thoughts? Are you going to keep on with Adobe products because you are locked in? Will you be trying alternatives from providers like Affinity? Do you trust Adobe or other big tech companies to keep their word? I'll go first. As a regular Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Lightroom and Photoshop user I've grown comfortable with these programs over the years. I've not been thrilled about Adobe since their move to a subscription model; but I've swallowed the disappointment due to getting access to Creative Cloud at a discounted rate through work. I'…

Dear Anyone. Hokay, this is my First Ever Website, so I'm learning about website building the hard way - DOING it! So I want to embed a graphic behind text in my site, which is in Google Classic Sites (because that's where the lady I'm doing it for bought the domain - don't ask!) I click on the text box and get the little paint palette. Click on that and choose the embed graphic option. But even if I upload a small picture on purpose, because I just want it to fit in the window behind the text so it has to be the same size - or smaller than - the area of all the writing, it comes up MASSIVE, bigger than the area of writing, bigger than the textbox the writing's…

On my website, https://www.kirkbymicrowave.co.uk/ I have put a logo in the top left, which I want to keep. At the minute, the colours of the heading are H1=red H2=green H3=blue H4 = black That looks pretty horrid I know, but I'm looking for suggestions for colours (preferably in #xxxxxx hex format), that would look reasonably well with the logo. The menu structure has its own colour scheme too. I'm open to changes to that too, but I'm not so bothered about that, as I don't think it looks too bad. Bland yes, but not too alful. I stuck a test page here, with all 4 headings in https://www.kirkbymicrowave.co.uk/index6.php Dav…

If I exchange an image through WhatsApp and if I download that image, will the extension of the image change? I heard from a friend of mine that downloading an image from WhatsApp changes the extension of that image. That's jpeg Or png whatever the image. But I didn't find that. So I'm interested to know if it is really? Does WhatsApp have any different extensions?

Recently, we developed Narrative Chart (https://narchart.github.io/), which is an open-source visualization library specialized for authoring charts that facilitate data storytelling with a high-level action-oriented declarative grammar. The library is implemented in JavaScript and compatible with most modern web browsers. Narrative Chart is designed to meet the needs of data storytelling specifically and lower the barrier of creating such charts. The grammar of Narrative Chart is simple and intuitive to learn, even for non-expert users, as it mimics the real actions of designers. Narrative Chart has rich supportive features for visual narratives, which enables users…

Hello there, I have just got my first paid job as a freelancer (even though im still a novice), basically a friend of mine wants his hand drawn logo digitizing so he can use it for his uniforms etc. What would be the best way to achieve this? Would it be best to trace it on illustrator? or is there a better way. Ive not received the logo yet but from what he was saying on the phone hes only got it in pdf format. Any advice would be greatly welcomed..... Cheers

I am having a real problem with jpeg images displaying differently in different locations. If I use GIMP to create a jpeg with 100% image quality & 72dpi and then display the image in Microsoft Paint, all is well. The original image viewed on Gimp and the Microsoft Paint version look identical - same size and level of detail. So far so good. The problem is if I upload the image to Squarespace or even open that same jpeg file in Microsoft Photos App, then they both display a version of the image that is slightly larger and more blurry than my original.

Hi, I've been tasked with finding a tool which will allow the converting of an image which includes text into an editable format. The design idea is actually a type of street art and so the text is irregular and not something that can be commonly created with any font that would fit this specific design idea. Is there a tool that can allow us to load in an image which includes text and then create a somewhat editable version of it? Thanks for any ideas in advance!

Before a few years it was almost closed but association was assembled and it still goes on. Site in general is good, community is very vibrant, overall design is simple but very unique. I have a deadline for a project and I feel inept and defeated because of how small my obstacle seems. I was given the following guidelines for the project: "We need twice the contributions. Next selection: August 31th. Send us your beautiful creation, Title - by Author's name.pdf in black and white at [redacted] For Montréal the size is 72X36 in. For Nantes the size is 175X91 200 DPI minimum. No crop marks. See you soon." As you might guess, digital graphic design is not my current forte. Suffice it to say, I haven't the foggiest how to alter the dimensions of a digital pdf. I do not presently have access to any of the adobe suite so my intention is to acc…

Hi there, I'm really hoping you can help. I've been wrestling with this for years and have usually just worked around this ignorance of mine, but I can't any more. On a job I'm doing now I can't avoid it any more. It's such a noob question so forgive me. I can't work out how to do text into an image without it looking rubbish - pixelating even when presented at full size. It's also tied with an inability to work out how to play with text to give a slick clean look using size and stretch etc. So far I'm limited to handle stretching, font sizes, but I never get a result that looks good when the image is captured and then rendered. I'm using photoshop and illustrat…
