I've been working with Adobe Illustrator for about 6 months, trying to learn to create interesting designs and graphics, but now I'm starting to create an online portfolio and I find when I save a file "for the Web" it looks pixelated and blurry around the edges. I've tried saving at 100% quality in both .png and .jpg format and I've had very little success with it. I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue.

Hi everybody! I had no concept nor any particular request; it just had to fit the main theme of the website: fantasy, novels and so on. Actually, it's not my favourite kind of graphic; I prefer a minimal style, so I had to start from a pencil sketch which I exported in photoshop. Some colours/lights are still to be fixed and text added (I can't find any font I like: I suppose I'm going to make my own). Cheers

I've been commissioned to design a logo but I'm having trouble figuring what angle to come at it from. The design brief I have is merely that the logo be 'student focused'. The site is offering student discounts for tickets and meals etc. I've tried designing a few text-based logos and such but the client isn't happy with any of them so far. Any advice on how best to generate some fresh ideas on this one?

Hiya guys, I've been out of the graphic design game for about 8 years now, and i'm keen to ease back into it. In saying that, all I ever used in my previous job was Corel Draw (versions 7-10) and other relatively basic stuff. Ultimately I would like to combine graphics with web design, but to start with I just want something fairly basic to get my teeth in to. Once again I find myself designing a new portfolio and of a new logo that moves away from the previous "Alluziion" alias. I've been playing around with different styles and designs but could do with some ideas and feedback on what I have so far. I want something that's easy to work with, that's versatile and of course something that's presentable. I recently got photoshop and Im seeing alot of tutorial videos of people making 3D buttons and logos and it looks fantastic BUT it seems that they are all using CS6. I tried to find videos of it being done in CS5 and....... nothing.. couldnt find any accurate info on the net either. So just wondering is this a CS6 exclusive thing or something?

I'm working on my webshop store. I want to start selling old/yountimer Volvo parts that are NLA or upgrade compaired to the stuff they sold back in the 70-80-90's. I know i want something swedish in it, maybe also something dutch to show the origin of the webshop. Hi I'm a baby and child photographer, and am trying to rebrand my business. I have a few ideas that I've put together for my new feminine look and feel logo. I may actually be halfway there but I'm not a graphic designer and don't have access to typefaces beyond the standard ones. Would like some help or someone who can finish the job for me. I'm thinking vintage and feminine, so someone who has a good eye with this sort of design would especially be helpful. Hello! I have a logo for a community website I'm helping to make, which is part of a theme. Now the logo is an image, however I would like the text part of the logo making into a vector so I can resize it how I want. So the logo is: http://imgur.com/s2pvn It is the font: "Novecento wide (OT1)", however I angled some corners, moved things together etc to make it look how it is. So yeah, looking for a vector of the text, so I can re-size then add effects in photoshop. If anyone could do this for me it'd be awesome, because I am awful with Illustator

Basically I was on photoshop and suddenly the darn thing crashed, now everytime I login I get an error say something along the lines of GPU enhancements and disabled becasue of video driver, you may have to update your video driver or video card.... firstly what are GPU enhancements and isit important!?

Hey all, I have been trying to learn to make websites, for quite some time. I have bought a couple of books, taken online courses, been using Teamtreehouse. But I don't feel like im really learning anything. Every time I sit down, and try to make a website, my brain just emptys of ideas, and I don't come far. So I have always sucked at art (I draw worse than a first grader) so I don't know what colors looks good, etc. I don't have the "art eye". For example, I created a new WordPress <div> to display price offer in border, I could of used a ready plugin, but I wanted to have full control over that div. Now I compare the plugin and the style I created. Mine is looking much, much worse. I do need to make web pages thought, so any suggestions? Are there any general guides? But we would like to know if there are better format to use to achieve better quality and high resolution. Hi everyone. I'm looking for more examples of the type of window decorations you see in this scene from Titanic attached below. I want to use it for the design of a small site, I'm trying to create the effect of looking at an old style train station through the window of an old style cafe/pub/restaurant. Any idea where I might find more windows like this? I have no idea how to search for it in google, I've tried "old style window decorations/borders/frames/flourishes" but to no avail. Thank you.

Hi Guys, Basically I had a facebook page set up for a business I'm starting. However I deleted my personal facebook which meant I lost the other page too. It was no big deal and I was setting up a new one, but when I came to uploading my Logo It wouldn't fit right and is slightly too big. I'm not sure If facebook have changed the profile pic size? It was the same Logo I used before which fitted perfectly and the same I use on twitter, youtube etc... I tried to contact the designer who did the Logo but cannot get hold of them. Hi ! I am currently Designing a WordPress Blog, and have become unable to come-up with a idea in respect to a cool graphic for the it's background. The Blog is an Afrocentric/Urban motif, with the purpose of attracting-catering to African Americans and people of color. But all people are welcome to enjoy my Blog as well. I'm just saying ! Hii friends, Can anyone tell me how to reduce file size of my google ppc remarketing campaign banners? I have designed all my banners with photoshop. I have read google guidelines. These guidelines shows google takes files of size 50kb or smaller than this.

I have used Photoshop7.0. I have tried to get a transparent background on an image. I have the image surrounded by the checkerboard. But when I placed it into InDesign, it has showed a white background. Can anybody tell me what I do now?

Greetings! Ive recently been attempting to give my site graphics a buff and polish, a little spice up, if you will. Trouble is, I'm no good at graphic art! What I've tried to do here is create the effect that the white line is some sort of filter, and it dissolves/shreds the logo in to those tendrils. Im happier with this than my earlier works, but i'm still not satisfied. Can someone please help me with the transition from logo to tendrils? Thanks very much, chaps, John.

Ok I am no way near a designer, i am if you must describe it a developer. I don't have the creativity to pull off some of the amazing work I have seen posted on these pages. But I want to create a logo for a site, instead of using some fancy shmancy font as applying some css to make it look good. Where can I start? I have image editing software (The Gimp) and know how to use it. But alas my creative juices stopped flowing the same time acne stopped.

I'm not sure if I can post this on webdesignerforum.co.uk at all, but basically I have this image what I need where you see a street, and the sky. I didn't take it with any HDR settings. In PhotoShop I created two images now: A brighter one with more contrast, that makes the street look so nice! However, the brightness that I add makes the red sky and the clouds disappear. So I created this other image, with higher contrast as well, but lower brightness. Both look fantastic, and I want to combine them now. I know there's a script for that already, but it absolutely doesn't do what I want. I really only want to combine the sky with the street / houses. Is there…

Hi! We really need a logo for our Animal Sanctuary.
