Hi everybody!

 

Since I am working on my own, without collegues to give feedback, it is really hard to develop further with graphic design. Although I am learned in coding, I lack of a proper design study, and it makes graphic design really slow for me. I am eager to learn more and have tried to teach myself by reading, watching and practising.

 

I finally want to make my own logo. Well, it has to do with my name and me as a web & graphic designer / developer.

 

I do not want to brief anymore, I'd just be really happy if you could give me some thoughts to it, what do you understand in this logo, is the purpose clear, and of course, is are there any no-go design mistakes?

 

I have been trying for days now to get these two words together, I have a different approach also, pls let me know if you want to see it

doesn't look bad at all.. maybe it would be more appealing to swap the words. OWL coding. Also add some color

The dark green is the main color in my website, and owl coding is not possible, because my name is the other way round. I believe there is a firm already calling itself owl coding and there is a programming language called owl... I think.

I like the one with the large parenthesis covering both words. Not a fan of the mint green though for the "coding"!

Otherwise I think it's clean and simple, nice work.

I like the logo of your first post. But put a little more white space between the two words, so they can breathe.

I prefer the 3rd one in post #4 - I don't really like the green, but that's personal prefs.

Just curious as to what that shape is or signifies, and what the thorght processes were when you designed them, for example in your 3 potential designs one of the 'o' in owl is a capital whilst the rest are not, another example was why have you used those specific fonts as they seem very bland and un exciting, not sure it's the correct impression you want to give clients?

I really like the bottom one, the parenthesis look like the eyebrows of an owl - not sure if that's what you're going for or is a fluke?!

 

May be try the parenthesis above the text and adjust the lettering so the O's in coding and owl become the eyes / pupils!?

The parenthesis or braces are part of many coding languages signifying the open and close of a bloke of code. Used in php, css etc they're used to define functions and / or classes

Ok, if that's the case (although you are just guessing, you don't know for sure- unless of course you worked on it) they would be better off changing the position to vertical and placing the text inside them, although using Curley brackets is not making it clear that is the intention.

 

I would also question whether that is the right thing to be concentrating on, maybe they could combine that type of thing into an owl shape as an idea.

 

I don't think it's suitable, I think it needs time spend developing it into a brand, at the moment I don't think its very good.

I think you're on to something but i don't think the thick font is working im my opinion.. i think you should scrap this idea and research some more.

 

*EDIT* so I had a little play with this one. Idea for you. It may not be the right style but could help?
