Here is the second attempt at my logo design. I think this design has a more professional feel to it. The one thing that is bothering me is the little lines either side of the word design. Is there anything else you would suggest instead? What do you think? The other designs which I now dislike are HERE.

The website I'm building to help me raise funds for two armed forces charities, by promoting the sponsored walks I'm organising and participating in has come to a grinding halt. The reason for this is that I want to have some images (as a slideshow or slider) on the front page that are relevant to the theme of the site, and help to put the message across. I don't have any though that fit the bill, and I've tried scouring the free image sites for some inspiration but have fallen flat on my face. Here's how the page looks now, the area I want to fill is shown with the image place holder: (source: http://opsorefeet.info) I know it's cheeky asking, but I was wonderi…

Hi Guys, I'm the goto guy in my band for posters in a style I like to call "Elwellist" each poster usually involves a theme last year it was a person drinking beer with a deer headed friend. This year I ran the theme over but this time a big blinging mounted deer head is in use. I have done a test print off and everything comes out quite nice, please ignore the colouring slightly I have converted it to RGB for web purposes but the CMYK version prints out really nice. Once I have given the deer a bit more bling it's ready to go and will be up in our local bar at the weekend. Would love to know what you think as I don't get to show my print design work oft…

Hello, bit of strange thread but is the only forum i know where anyone will share my thoughts. Is it just me that finds it annoying when walking around the street, reading a magazine etc... that you recognise the fonts and feel happy that you have determined what they are. A couple of times i have said out loud... thats TRAJAN... then realising. No one cares... Its only going to get worse haha!

After a long while dithering around I have finally decided on a name and a logo for my website. The name I am going with is: ROBBIE DANTE DEAKIN WEB DESIGN. I have come up with some logos, they are all essentially the same design with some jiggery pokery. They obviously need some tweeking to make them perfect(alignment etc). I was just after your opinion on which one you think I should make the perfect one. Logo 1: Logo 2: Logo 3: Thank You

Hi there I am wondering if someone can guide me in the right direction with regards to a Photoshop problem i have. Basically i have a photo of a large fabric chair which is purple and has large green leaves on it. I need to change the design/colour of this chair so that it is purely cream. If the chair was just purple then i konw how to change it to cream, but im not sure how to go about changing the actual pattern of the chair? Is there a way i can change the green leaves and the purple background so that the whole chair is just a cream colour with no pattern? thanks for any help

Currently working to re-brand a local hair salon, part of which is to design a new logo. This is what I've come up with. Is it obvious it's supposed to be a scissors? Can you tell it says "t h c"? Those two areas can be tweaked, but is the idea itself a good one? What does it say to you? They're trying to change their image to market themselves better toward women aged 25-40 and want a classier image. Their current logo and colours used are very saturated pinks and oranges, which to me seems more oriented with a younger market, hence the redesign. Be interesting to read your feedback, thanks Tom

What is the best way to learn how to use Illustrator for logos? I can come up with some nice concepts when drawing logo ideas on paper but I just can't get to grips with Illustrator. I've tried a few tutorials for logos but generally find them quite vague. Have you got any good resources how to learn high quality logo design? Thanks

My question: is there any way of using a code to make it fit the screen size when they open it up? maybe using the % option? I have the thumbnail of 200x150 am now going make it 100x75px as 200x150px seems a bit too big. It will open as a lightbox option.

Hi everyone, I have this boring logo here atm: Current logo ... I was told that the green was far too bright so I changed it to this: New logo Although this looks better than the first one, I still think it is too plain and could do with a bit more creativity. Here what I sell in my eBay shop: the logo and colours are still for the old one but this is just to give you's an idea of what I sell: My eBay shop I mostly sell wood-related products that are cut on a CNC machine. I also innovate them by putting mirror etc on the front. The letterboxes and door knockers that are in the shop is just stock we have and want to sell. Any suggestions would be great. …

I've been working on a logo for a friend. This friend is an electrian but he does renovation works as well. He already agreed with the concept( this is the kind of logo he wanted ) but i'm not very satisfied myself. Maybe I should work it out better so it would look more professional but right now I'm stuck. I'm still a student so any feedback or help towards working it out better would be very appreciated.

Hi mates. I am a budding web designer and I use Adobe illustrator and Photoshop for creating most of my design elements like wire frames, graphics, buttons etc.Being a freelancer I am on a serious job hunt for a full time position and thought if it would be useful to take ACE certification on Adobe Illustrator. When I goggled about it , what I found is 1. there are some institutes offering couching 2. if on your own use the classroom in a book source. Is that all really available!? has anyone taken the exam here ,if so how did you prepare for it ?Would be glad for any guidance . Thank You

This is for my Brother. For me, the objective is to keep it as simple as possible, the Ockhams Razor approach. No fancy fonts, no motifs, scaleable, works in B&W, and who knows - would look good on a van. I don't think it needs to really communicate what exactly he does, anyone who sees this logo is gonna be seeing it because they already know what he does. The second image is in context on the website I'm designing for him. I think this works - do you?

Hi i am not sure if this is the correct home for this question but as i am pretty sure most of you use this software i am curious about a slight problem that i cannot seem to understand or solve. I have installed the software once before, but due to a reformat of my lappy i have had to install again. only this time i have come across some malfunctions (for a better word). Basically if i select Commands>creative>Auto vector mask. All i get is .. the pop-up window opens but instead of giving me options.. its blank. And this is the same for 1 or 2 other options? Any ideas why! I'm thinking of doing a re-install.. but thats not easy as my laptops drive needs …

Hi all, Wasn't sure where to post this so I'll drop it in here and hope for the best! The image attached is the background image to a site I'm working on. It struck me that I've got a lovely texture (added noise; god bless you) but it's not a repeated pattern. Can someone advise me on how to create that textured effect that can be deployed as the background image on a site? I know it's a bit 'novice' but I've never been asked to use a texture on the whole page BG before. Appreciate the help.

Hi, I'm going to be getting some business card designs created, and wondered where the best place to get them printed is. Not sure if both sides will be full colour yet. Looking for someone who's good value for money. Only a student with limited funds at the moment.. so don't really want to spend a ton. Not looking for a huge amount of cards. 250/500. Any recomendations ? Luke.

Hi there. I'm very new to web design and adobe products. Now I have done two tutorials on those small rounded corner iphone icons for illustrator. But at the end, when I have finised it, and saved for web, it doesn't quite crop all of the artboard away. I have the orange rounded corner square icone, but in each corner is the white artboard filling out the make the square corners. I have asked in the AI forums about this and there was no response. I then did a video tutorial on making a web header in photoshop. This header wasn't rectangular, it had a curved lower edge. At the end of the tutorial the guy cropped it and the crop was in the encompassing rectangle shape,…

I have found very neat looking graphics, and I would like to reproduce similar ones. and How would I go about doing that? I know the basis could be a simple screenshot. Then I'd probably need to fiddle with rotation and perspective. Or do I need to print them out and make a photograph? Any input would be great
