Logo for IT Consultancy

Featured Replies

This is for my Brother.

For me, the objective is to keep it as simple as possible, the Ockhams Razor approach.

No fancy fonts, no motifs, scaleable, works in B&W, and who knows - would look good on a van.

I don't think it needs to really communicate what exactly he does, anyone who sees this logo is gonna be seeing it because they already know what he does.

The second image is in context on the website I'm designing for him.

I think this works - do you?

The recipe for timeless logo design, a la Paul Rand.

Edit: and Saul Bass, come to think of it.

Oh God, I'd have never lived that down! I have no Sisters, only lots of older Brothers...

In what regards Oak?

What do you suggest? I'm not really for a motif logo, they're incredibly difficult to get right which is why I feel 99% of them are complete tosh.

I'd be inclined to agree with you. Most of the logos I make are usually text-based logos.

I'm not saying it's a bad logo. It would probably do the job just fine.

One thing it isn't doing though is being memorable and maybe that's something you could also address somehow.

I read that as F ING IT

^^ I agree!! :pp :pp

Although they are very nice :) Well done!! :clapping::hi::clapping:

He does IT support, networking, IT systems, web hosting. Just lots of IT stuff. He advises big companies on things like software licensing, what hardware setup they should use, etc etc.

Thanks guys, think I'll take this one forward :)

try to set the font of "consulting" to cursive so it fits the line of the blue or black box?

diagonal gives the box some speed, but "consulting" is to static now

Edited by frankds

I like the second one on the first picture (the simple one in blue) although I feel it needs one more element of some kind to complete it.

The "consulting" bit is the same font size as the first bit, making it extend to fit the box would make it bigger and look odd in my opinion.

Anyway, all opinions aside, it's been settled now :)

Good stuff, I prefer the black one

If you were going for simple I think you nailed it. It works in B&W. Consulting and IT Services I find some of the hardest fields to do logos in.
