Can you describe the logo you want. The link has SS is that relevant? Colour?

regards,

Richard.

Not really sure that was just something I found. I want something simple, memerable but fresh and not to corporate.

I quite like the tree like one in the bottom left here http://www.google.com/m/search?site=images&client=ms-android-htc&hl=en&gl=gb&source=android-browser-type&tbs=isch%3A1&aq=f&oq=&aqi=-k0d0t0&fkt=2612&fsdt=5665&htf=&his=&q=social+actions+logos#i=1

To be honest though I am not sure

Going on the decided name social swapz something resembling social networks, web promotion and swaping.

EDIT: Revised version

mock up for an eco-investment company

Kerning and tracking. I'd space out the text on the bottom line, seems crammed together. Other than that looks good! :good:

Some very nice logo designs. Make love and hot heads logos are my favorite! :)

Your logos are pretty impressive.

I like the thinkone and cre8 logos.

The WYSIWYG is very creative as well.

Keep up the good work

mock up for an eco-investment company

EDIT: Revised version

I think the one with the white background, because then the blue drop suggests water, which together with the green suggests environment perfectly. If you have a blue background, then no dice on the blue water drop.

Nice logo! Simple, polished and effective.

cheers! that logo took me all of 45 mins to do haha actually the majority of the logos in the thread took me about that length of time haha just brushin up on my skills. although that eco one was for an actual client

Does that include conception out of interest or is that just construction time?

If you were humming and ha-ing about the conception for a while (say you had a block, or a tricky concept) woud you charge the client for that time? Please advise.

Also - whether it took you 45 mins or not, the client is paying you for all those years of experience you have. Doesn't matter in my opinion whether it took 2 minutes..... as long as the final result's there!

Nice clean logos man, you obviously have the art of not over-complicating things, which is important in logo design.

ah like i said alot of the logo's on this thread are just things i did while i was messing with photoshop. i'd usually come up with the concept then pick a name to suit the concept if you know what i mean. it was all just to try figure out in my head why a logo works, how to balance words etc i just felt a while back that my logo skills were below par so wanted to brush up on them. for instance the Latest one i did, the eco-investment company. that was for an actual client. i did it on the sly in work (i have a full time job and do jobs on the side), had the logo in the bottom corner of my screen and made it that way haha only took an hour to come up with the concept and structure etc. i think the work i put in trying to learn how to make a strong logo will pay off in the long run. i'd recommend it to everyone, just think of a word and make a logo around it. similar to my cre8 thingy

Haahaha that's what I like to hear!

Alzer - out of interest, why do you always state how long it took you "Only 1 hour, only 30 minutes" etc. - is this the time it ought to take us to knock up a logo of this standard? If so then I feel like giving up :(

i dont know why i say how long it took. i suppose so you dont look at the logo and think its **** thinkin it took me a week to design when it only really took me an hour or so. like i said at the beginning that most of these logo's are done just so i can work on my logo skills. how to create a smooth flowing logo, how colours and structure complement each other to create a nice flowing logo. hopefully this work will stand to me down the line when it comes to creating actual logos. (although i know its very different in a real situation when a client comes with some weird name)

wow your a very talented personnice work logo's look great

thanks Josh :)

Paula Scher, when she created the CitiBank logo, walked into the corporate office with a pencil and paper. In a spell of inspiration she ended up mocking up what is there today in about 30 seconds. The executives were furious. They had just agreed to pay her an absurd sum of money to come up with the logo design, and she was done in under a minute! They protested, asking why they should pay her full sum when it only took 30 seconds and she replied, "It took me a lifetime." Sorry for the horribly paraphrased anecdote.

I wouldn't worry about how long it took. I'd worry more about how complete it is. You should post something along the lines of "this is a first draft", it's more relevant to the design process than time.

You have some really good chops with Illustrator and a couple of these logos are really good. Hot heads is a great concept (though I'm not a fan of the effects applied to it) and I LOVE the "Pull" logo. Simple and effective.

You just need to keep in mind that a good logo needs to work in black and white, some of the ones posted wouldn't translate well to monotone. I'd love to see more client work. As you mentioned, many of these are "I'm bored" or faux briefs. Real-word logos always end up being far more difficult when client interaction is involved. Our jobs would be so much easier without clients...

Anyways, good work so far, keep at it!

cool logos alzer. im interested in your creative process.... inspiration etc..

i mean do you sketch things up? or just lash into illustrator?

fantastic job on the heart logo and the flash your very talented! Also love the "jump" logo it POPS! Keep up the awesome work!
