A paintball site I sub-contract to is running a huge, discounted paintball day every 3rd Sunday of the month and there's a wealth of information that I need to put on this banner for their website. Now, They want something that attracts the attention of the user, is easy to read and understand and entices them to ring up the office. Now, I've been working on this for a while now as I have other jobs that are more important, and i'm not sure if i've tweaked it that much that now it's just useless. Which programs do you use for graphics, and/or edits and why do you use them? I use: Photoshop CS5 (I use this for floral vectors and stuff like that). CorelDraw X5 (Vectors, I can use this better then Photoshop CS5). Xara Designer Pro 7 (3D text and for making things from other programs 3D). I am aware that xara is pretty rubbish, but it works for me very well.

Hello, I am trying to design a logo for my website. I know what I want but cannot create it. Have a look at the attached picture, it is a part of my logo but I want to make it like a vector.. like wings on the second attached picture. I know the first picture is low quality but it is just to show you to get idea about what I am saying. (I got a high quality one as well) I tried "Live Trace" in Illustrator but did not make it like the wings in the picture. I really do not know what should I do to create what I want. I have not have much time to think about my (future) design company portfolio, and have just spend a few hours in photoshop trying to come up with an idea. This is what I came up with after experiencing some sort of writers block. It is quite hectic, and I dont know what to think about it, please have a look and let me know your opinion. Hi all, Was just wondering if anyone had seen any free social networking icon sets, on their travels, that had the Google+ icons? I have found a few seperate sets of just G+ icons, but they dont match any of my currently downloaded sets. Thanks in advance [Edit] In particular I am after the following icons if at all possible? Hey everyone, So I'm quite new to web design and noticed an effect on a site and I can't see how to re-create it. It's a dotted / mesh effect on a background picture, like on the official White Lies website. It's a Flash site so can't see what's going using Firebug, wondered if anyone knew how to do it?? Hi, I am looking to create a rounded corner rectangle but only as an outline and export as a png for use as a div background image in Dreamweaver, I can't work out how to do this? Can I put an angled corners on the marque tool? I have created this very thing in Fireworks but I am getting no smoothness to the line with the corners being much thicker as the attached image shows...any help with that might solve things!? Hi, I have sketched out this 'G' for use as a logo and having found the bottom image 'vividways' I would like to use similar techniques. My Illustrator skills are basic and I am finding it very difficult to recreate the shape first and foremost without it looking off balance, sharp edges etc. I don't have to copy the sketch exactly and it can have more symmetry if there is a way to replicate it. Can anybody help please? Many thanks

I used a site a while back which allowed you to type in a search and it would bring up pictures from flickr, it would then also suggest a colour scheme based on the photo. I can't find it in my bookmark's and I can't for the life of my remember what it was called. Any help?

I use Photoshop CS4 (I'm no expert with all this btw). I want the graphic below to be about 1300px width, but the same height. Whenever I try to stretch it wide, the height goes up too. How do I stretch it out, whilst keeping the same height? Regards Ryan

Hello, new to AI so struggling a bit. What im trying to do is: I have the letter D. I want to make it so that the hole in the D, is actually a star. Now, i have put a white start over the whole and it looks correct, however, im using illustrator for my vinyl cutter so the text needs to be just 1 thing. Hey all, As I've been doing a lot of flyers and posters lately I decided to drop Photoshop in favour of InDesign. Basically, I'm already tearing my hair out so I have returned to the fountain of knowledge to in search of help. Question 1: I want my text to have a gradient so I created a new gradient swatch. The problem is, when I'm in the gradient options I can't use the eye dropper tool to choose colours which appear on the canvas. All I am able to do is slide the CMYK up and down for each colour. How can I use the eye dropper tool with the gradient swatch? Kind regards, Audity

Might be a few of these as im getting used to AI Im trying to create this sticker for someone: The "Highwaystar" one on the window. I have found a close enough font, but need a way to create the outline effect. I have tried to layer the item, and put a heavy fill and stroke the same colour, then placed it underneath. This looks 100% correct, but when i got to use with a vnyl cutter, the stroke doesnt appear. are stroke created in AI no vector? or is theres something i have done wrong? Craig.

Logo design isn't my strong point but I'm trying to come up with something for a possible web design business. I have a couple of different names and target audiences so it might not get used but at least it's a bit of practice Anyway, the name I'm playing around with atm is 'Men in Monkey Suits'. Hi Very basic question for you guys, i'm new to illustrator. My friend has designed me a logo in illustrator. I've cropped the space around the logo down from the original so now when i go and save for web and devices the jpg shows the white space of the orginal canvas size. How do i make my edited logo to be the new canvas size and not show the white space from the original? Thanks

I am sending some business cards off to moo.com to have them done. Only thing is, one of the fonts I'm using is oviously un-embeddable as when I try to convert to pdf in photoshop and tick "embed fonts" it gives me a "Program error". It saves ok if I tick "Use text as outline" instead. So question is bearing this in mind, what's the way to send it with the best quality possible? Is it as a pdf with "Use text as outline" ticked, or should I send it as a high quality png etc?

I'm creating a logo for a project of mine. The project is a web browser that's going to change from the traditional browser UI, so in a way it's trying to break from the mold. Something I've noticed while studying web browser logos is they are all circles... not an amazing discovery, but I figured: if they're all circles, then why not make a square/cube? So... Its starting to get just a tad annoying now. Quite often when im building a website now the client says that there can be no flash on the page at all due to it not playing on their ipad or iphone. This is forcing work arounds that are unnecessary, flash is the logical answer for video and audio players and has been for so long not being able to use it is sticking an apple shaped thorn in my side.. do you think apple and adobe will work this out or is this the way its going to be?
