Not done this before, so..... Using the template provided by moo.com, so am aware of the bleed and trim areas etc. This is by far from the final layout, but here are two I knocked up, comments welcome. The logo in the first one is deliberately in the bleed/trim area and when cut, the 'roothost.co' will still be visible.

We have over 12,000 members and a hugely active community. we are currently undergoing a revamp (see our temporary forum -http://dancingjes.us) as our already large popularity and brand name among the music scene in the Internet we have decided to launch a blog/website to expand the Dancing Jesus domain. I am wondering whether the people who regularly design branding / logo's have a particular process that they follow when designing or whether it is different for each circumstance? What's your experience? Recent design for clients engineering business - including vehicle graphics and identity.

Hi guys, I'm having an issue with a site I am doing wordpress. I have a red footer (cc0000) and according to the interwebs and photoshop, its a web safe colour. However, in firefox and safari you can see the difference between css coded colour and an image colour. Both are cc0000 and in IE it displays fine (I know right?!). My question is where would I begin to try and solve this? Is this something I can even fix? Do you guys need any more info? I can link to the site, but it has maintenance mode running, because I dont want the client to see it. I am a fireworks user, who is coming over to photoshop. In fireworks when i create a square I can change the length/height of it easily. In photoshop I dont no how to do that, so please exsplain? Also in fireworks I can set an outline of one colour, then use the photoshop live effects to create another outline colour. In photoshp you can only use the photshop effects, so is the only way to do this by creating another square for instance behind the button showing 1px either sides to get the effect? This is all for now, going home to play with what you helpfull lot have taught me, then im sure i will snag a few more problems!

Hi Everyone, I'm having some trouble with a tutorial from psdtuts+ and was hoping you guys could help me since I cannot find anyone with a similar problem in the comments or find any useful help elsewhere? I have got to the point where I have created a new channel, applied a filter to that channel and need to "command click the alpha channel to load the white areas as selection". When I do this I get the ant trail around my selection. (its a wood frame) I then guessed I'd have to click the dotted circle "load channel as selection" but when I do this and return to the layer it hasn't changed. I've finally decided what kind of logo I aqtually want. I want a dark blue logo with some highlight blue in it. The shape it self will be a triangle up side. In the center I want a golden picture of a galop Horse. That Horse should look like the one I got. I was wondering what the price range would be? Ohw and it should be made in a program like adobe illustrator and not photoshop. I don't want to have pixels in the logo but vector masked or something like that. I hope I made it understandable for you to get some idea.

Hi guys. Does anyone know if you can create a shape in Photoshop using Actions? I recently bought a Bundles DVD of action scripts that allow me to create 3D creations of CDs, book jackets and DVDs for portfolio pieces but what I'd really like to do is be able to create a shape with extra information in ie "20 books" or "buy now". However, when I create the shape and enter the text, then play it back, it won't create the text or shape. I've attached a file to show you what I mean. Any ideas? Thanks!

The previous cards I had did not match with the new branding, so I decided to make new cards. This is the new mock-up for my company's business cards. What do you guys/girls think? Hello, im starting up a vinyl business. Called; Vinyl Penguin. I have my logo and am happy with it. However my main advertising will be in car vinyls (stickers if you like) so i feel its important to include the .co.uk extension onto the logo. It currently looks like this: However reproducing the small .co.uk part in a vinyl, isnt ideal and i want it bigger. I feel that .co.uk is essential to include since it adds an incentive for anyone who reads it. Simply, VinylPenguin, could mean anything and doesn't give a reason to visit it. I've been trading under the name 'Snappy Creations' for a good while now, and to be honest I hate the name. After so long though, I think it would do more harm than good to start from scratch and lose the name. So, that aside, the current website and logo were just, well, awful. About two months ago I started a new web design company and I also offer print design. I've had several clients where I have had to design flyers, brochures, menus, business cards etc.. for but being a new company, I never invested in the hardware to be able to print this media myself. I would design the media and I would use third-party to print for me. This got very costly and my profits were very minimal, but at the same time I didn't have much of a choice unless I wanted to invest more than I could. Design a form in Word 2003 which can be filled out via a member of staff and emailed out directly to customers as a booking confirmation form from word. Right so far i have done the following... Hello everyone, I have some photos that were reconstructed after the collapse of a computer and another photo on the memory card. Some of the pictures came out blurry when restored. Is there anyone who understands these things? How can I get them anyway? (I do not really understand Photoshop and these programs). So I was looking for icons for 'nearby' functions within apps, and I didn't want to use the standard 'map' or standard 'pin' icons that everyone uses, so I thought I might make my own. I've never really made custom icons before so I just wanted to see what others would think of this one. FYI, this is an icon to be used in an iOS app interface, typically on the UI tabs (usually featured in the lowest portion of the screen). Apologies for the ****ty compression and watermarking... Just didn't want anyone to steal it in case I eventually make a collection of icons.

"Oishii App Studio" Originally I had illustrated the squid character in illustrator, but I decided to make an 8-bit logo because, well, it's cute and trendy and I just like it. haha Basically I am putting out my first iPhone app on the 1st of October (hopefully), which is based on work organisation, and I've decided to start a business with my developer as my partner. Who o who can help me to get on the correct direction in the webdesign for mine website. I just seem to fail at it. I look at blogs of 2011 and the latest trends but some how mine brain isn´t creative not even for 1 layout. Maby some´one got some blogs, tutorials (maby ebook) for me where I can look at? This is for a small business called maria's vintage chic that's selling vintage and shabby chic home-ware goods. I wanted to give a retro look with a modern twist, combining the script and san serif font. They also hand customise some of there goods, so though this tied in well with the script font, and the heart comes from the saying home is where the heart is, as there products are rustic and homely. Couple of variations included, any thoughts on it?

Came up with a new logo for my friend's new company this morning. Its a dog grooming company and looking for a nice creative modern logo that included pawprints. This is the best I came up with in a hour or two this morning. I know its rough but I am only a web designer and have no experience in this kind of thing. I would love feedback from designers that ARE good at this kind of thing. All feedback is really appreciated, even if it means I have to start again. I need to learn how to design this kind of thing and would love honesty.
