Thanks Wickham, I've given that a go, and inserted display: table; in my .item class. Please see the results in my attachment. Perhaps its something else in my CSS (or HTML) thats preventing it to display correctly?? http://jsfiddle.net/C9P7D/ I also tried display: table-cell; which did not work either. Sorry to be a pain, but I think this is the final issue I have with this particular page, and would really appreciate it if you could look over my code if you have time. Many thanks.

Hi guys, As the title suggests i'm looking to vertically center each of my <div> content. Please see my attachment and it should become clear what i'm after. Here's my code as it stands. http://jsfiddle.net/2Kqnu/ I've tried various methods such as vertical-align: middle; margin-top:?? ; margin-bottom:?? ; padding:?? ; but nothing seems to be taking affect for some reason. Thank you once again.

Finally sussed it ! By simply increasing the min-height of .item, the layout has somehow corrected itself. Thanks for alll contributions to this.

OK guys, i'm getting there gradually. For those who looked at my posts earlier today, i've since made an improvement (I hope). However I still have a problem with the <div> positioning, as you can see by my screen shot below. The confusing thing is, the layout is correct in my code here : http://jsfiddle.net/4eQJc/ , but on my web page the <div>s are somehow re-arranged! Many thanks in advance for any help.

haha, no worries. I was just asking for an alternative as I was getting frustrated, having spent so long on one page of my site. Just felt like I was getting nowhere. I guess its the same for everyone at this stage - its only my first real site, early days and I need to build my experience with CSS etc. No time last night but will be back later today

I see where you're coming from, A... the code I tried (last week) is now long gone unfortunately. I'm currently referring back to the Codecademy tutorials and recapping myself with the positioning elements such as Float. I'll give it another go and come back here later. Thanks.

Hello again guys, I'm having difficulty with D4Y0's method above. I have tried using the code but its not happening... I would be very grateful of any alternative options. I agree in that divs are the ideal method, so if someone could suggest an alternative to D4Y0's coding, that would be great. I've spent a while going back to my original "table" method, but as I need positioning control over every element its just not ideal. As a recap, please see post #2 above to see roughly what i'm after. Thank you all.
