    Google Recaptcha implementation

    Hi, I'm trying to set up a Google Recaptcha on a form I've already set up. It works fine in every other way, I just can't get the Recaptcha to verify server side. Following Googles guidelines (at https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin#list) I've got the first part set up no problem. But the server side part is undocumented in Google's guidelines it seems. I'm not sure what to do with the form submission php file at all and there's not much help from Google. So can someone please advise what I need to add to the php file please. I've put the html and php for the form below to show where I'm at. As I said above, I've got the Recaptcha working on the HTML side. It's the server side part I'm struggling with. This is where I'm at: The HTML form with the capture front end set up: <form method="post" action="contact.php"> <h2 align="center"> QUOTE REQUEST FORM</h2> <fieldset> <legend>We will respond to all enquiries within 24 hours. </legend> <p><h3>All fields marked with an <span class="asterix">"✱"</span> are required</h3></p> <p> <label for="name"><span class="asterix">✱</span>Name</label> <input name="Name" type="text" required/> </p> <p> <label for="emailaddress"><span class="asterix">✱</span>Email Address</label> <input name="Emailaddress" type="text" required/> </p> <p> <label for="telephone"><span class="asterix">✱</span>Telephone</label> <input name="Telephone" type="text" required/> </p> <p> <label for="enquiry" >Please enter any further details</label> <textarea name="Enquiry" type="text" required/></textarea> </p> <p> <div class="g-recaptcha" data-sitekey="my site key here"></div></p> <p> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> <input type="reset" value="Reset" /></p> </fieldset> </form> And this is where I need to add the verification code in the php file: <?php $EmailFrom = "me@myplace.com"; $EmailTo = "me@myplace.com"; $Subject = "Quote Request"; $Name = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Name'])); $Emailaddress = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Emailaddress'])); $Telephone = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Telephone'])); $Journeystart = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Journeystart'])); $Journeydestination = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Journeydestination'])); $Howmany = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Howmany'])); $Month = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Month'])); $Day = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Day'])); $Enquiry = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['Enquiry'])); // prepare email body text $Body = ""; $Body .= "EmailFrom: "; $Body .= $EmailFrom; $Body .= "\n"; $Body .= "Subject: "; $Body .= $Subject; $Body .= "\n"; $Body .= "Name: "; $Body .= $Name; $Body .= "\n"; $Body .= "Emailaddress: "; $Body .= $Emailaddress; $Body .= "\n"; $Body .= "Telephone: "; $Body .= $Telephone; $Body .= "\n"; $Body .= "Enquiry: "; $Body .= $Enquiry; $Body .= "\n"; // send email $success = mail($EmailTo, $Subject, $Body, "From: <$EmailFrom>"); // redirect to success page if ($success){ print "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=messagesent.html\">"; } else{ print "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=messagenotsent.html\">"; function check_input($data) { $data = trim($data); $data = stripslashes($data); $data = htmlspecialchars($data); return $data; } } ?> Any advice really appreciated and I'm sure many people will benefit from it too.

I would greatly appreciate if you could review the website and suggest any improvements you think are needed. Google MX Records

Hello I have a domain which is hosted on 1and1.co.uk and I have set up an email inbox there. The issue I am having is that when I send emails from this inbox, they always go to the spam/junk folder of the recipent. I set up an SPF record which they gave me, but it doesn't seem to work and to be honest I'm not sure what this does. If I change my MX records to use Google, do you think this will stop the issue? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
  7. Hey Guys! i am fairly new to the web designing world, but i am currently working for a media company who would like me to produce a interactive diagram of google analytics Map (see above) as an interactive website where users can interact with the diagram and read each bit of information for the diagram provided. when the user open the page he is introduced to the Google analytics diagram, when the user hovers or clicks on each of the boxes (DS DCM or DBM) the website will display a drop down or pop up box displaying the information and integration and how they interlink with the other properties as well as links. Deadline is a week so i want the most simple way possible to complete this, what would be the easiest way of approaching this. from scratch? useful templates? any other useful resources? (image is attached) Thanks guys!

    Remove Spam from Google Analytics

Since implementing eu cookie scripts we have been plagued by cookie compliance spam visitors. I am told they don't harm SEO but they skew both page visits and bounce rates which is important, especially when doing small tweaks or, in particualr, launching new pages/sites which don't have much traffic. I've looked at this option for removing ghost spam. https://www.ohow.co/ultimate-guide-to-removing-irrelevant-traffic-in-google-analytics/ which seems to involve whitelisting valid hostnames. Anyone see any issues? Have a better solution? TIA. Paul
  9. The official Google Blog Post states that they will be considering mobile friendliness of a website as a ranking feature with effect from April 21. Which clearly claims that now Google will surface content from indexed apps more prominently in search. This change in Google search procedure aims to allow users to find relevant and high quality search results that are optimized for their devices quite easily. Their are two major changes that Google has announced to be taking effect on April 21. For more visit Responsive Web Design Is The Key Now

  11. So seems like Google has pushed a new update on April 21st but that was not reflected in WebMaster Tools for a while. Some call it "Phantom 2" update which focuses on content, rather than the popular "Penguin" and "Panda" updates which focus on backlinks, unnatural links, etc. Here's an interesting article about it: http://www.hmtweb.com/marketing-blog/phantom2-google-update-april-may-2015/ Looks like there is no impact for our main site, so that's good news Are you impacted? Share your thoughts and experience.
  12. Hi Simply that, should I use and believe the analytic s tools that come with my C/Panel reseller hosting or through the Google Analytics account we have for this particular site? We have Awstats and Webalizer in our c/panel, which are pretty similar numbers, though not exactly the same (differences with Unique and visits I think), and then we have Google Analytics, which is great with the demographic elements and does allow you to pin point a date date range which the Awstats and Webalizer doesn't, but the number for the general stuff is just totally different. Awstats - 2457 pageviews this month so far Google - 489 Average session length etc etc are all different, like its a completely different site. Google says our bounce rate is 100%, which simply isn't the case, we have had many sales and even the people in the office look at various pages. Google does instill much confidence. Which should I use or is there a better free alternative that you can recommend? We really appreciate the help guys --
  13. Hi, This is related to what is the best policy for redirecting sites using 301 for link/domain juice. Two or three months one of my sites reappeared in the natural search listings of Google after it plummeted out of natural search due to bad backlinks put in place by companies I hired to manage my SEO. I had run a disavow project end of 2013 and wasn’t expecting the site to eve reappear even though I didn't receive any warning from Google. So, when I noticed the site reappear I decided to redirected one of my other sites to the destination site to give it a boost in Google natural search. Both of my sites were dedicated to the same service. Very similar content and urls. They positioned slightly different in that one attracted keywords directly related to the services the business sold and the other towards the staff that I hire to get the work done. Otherwise the keywords, structure and target audience is the same. I have two questions. I redirected each page individually from the staff related site using a 301 in the htaccess to a similar or corresponding page on the destination site. However, I didn't redirect the domain itself i.e. "/" file to the destination site until just recently. What difference would it make doing it the two ways I already have? How long do I need to keep the redirects in place before I can put the original site back online? I’ve done that before. Used a site to redirect link/domain juice. Once it boosts the destination site in search results, I retrieve the old site by deleting the 301s. Plus, what would you consider the best policy for redirecting sites using 301 for link/domain juice? Thanks
  14. Hi all, First time poster, but have been lurking for a while! Had someone ask me today what it would cost to switch a site we have built (which is a simple content only small business brochure WordPress site, no eCommerce or even customer login area etc.) from being all http to all https with valid ssl certificate. Reason they were asking is being 'it now influence Google Rankings' as per the article below. http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/2359219/google-to-reward-https-sites-with-higher-search-rankings I would of course consider https if we were handling customers data (eCommerce or otherwise), but on a simple brochure type website surely this isn't worth it, given the costs involved initially/annually and the negative impact on load times. Is it just me that thinks this sounds a bit crazy? Thanks, s
  15. I read somewhere a while ago that by having lots of good reviews on your Google places (now Google+ business) page that it could increase search rankings as obviously they provide Google a reason to bump you up. I was wondering how relevant this information still is and if anyone has had any experience with reviews on the linked Google+ page pushing certain sites up the search rankings. I would also be interested to know whether this is the best platform for accepting reviews or are other sites like Facebook etc. better in any way.

    Creating our own feed..

Hello! I'm working as a maintenance/IT guy at a very successful school in Sweden and today some people decided that they wanted a kind of active feed running onto our info screens around the school. I've been thinking about various ways of making this possible, but without any success. I'm only capable of HTML4/CSS and some PHP, so I thought i'd turn to some kind of forum, hence why I'm here. The basic idea is this: A web form where a teacher can send his or hers submission of a student that has done something nice. Some kind of active feed that receives the submission and shows it on a webpage. I was thinking that it would show one submission at a time for a few secs, and then move onto the next one that was submitted after the first one. Kind of like a slideshow, but with submissions instead of images. Is there a anything out there that I could use? Templates? Java? jQuery? Thanks in advance.
  18. Hello everyone, Does anyone have any suggestion on getting my website sitelinks on google search. My website is quite new, about one month old. Thanks
  19. We have been contacted by Ad People to manage & optimize our Adwords has anyone ever used them or can recommend a company to do this?
  20. Right, where do I begin. Free Virtual Servers' server updates kept changing my htaccess file making the code that parses the site as php to redirect to my mobile version broken, so the code displays at the top of the page - they managed to do this twice in a week. I was given the solution to make htaccess immutable, so it couldn't be changed - fine I thought... Then less than 24 hours they made more server changes, and because my htaccess file was now immutable didn't change it, the result being that as it was such a big change, my site went down! The site itself exists and is fine - but the blog post links were all 404'ing - I naturally blamed FVS, who were vague about any potential cause - I recreated the blog's htaccess file after deleting the one already there and this solved it. To add insult to this, Google tried to crawl the site while it was down and I dropped off page one as a result. The message being that google couldn't find my robots.txt file - well I didn't have one! So I tried to "fetch as google" and index my site again but the robots error is still showing - so I created a damn robots file as FVS were too vague in their response again. I now find that I can't submit all linked urls as this box in webmaster tools is now greyed out - and to top it all, I'm told when it tries to fetch and index my blog (inserted inside my site) that it's 301 redirected to the same url it is already on! Here's the google message: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Date: Sat, 31 May 2014 21:17:39 GMT Server: Apache Location: http://www.fizzwebdesign.co.uk/blog/ Content-Length: 244 Connection: close Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <html><head> <title>301 Moved Permanently</title> </head><body> <h1>Moved Permanently</h1> <p>The document has moved <a href="http://www.fizzwebdesign.co.uk/blog/">here</a>.</p> </body></html> I haven't set up a 301 for the blog - it's in the same place it always has been. I feel like I'm being sabotaged, any help as to what's going on? Is it all FVS' fault?
  21. Websites my company has created for some popular products show up as the top results on search engines such as Bing, Yahoo etc. however on Google they are appearing a lot further down, in some cases 7 or 8 pages on. We've not had this problem before. Does anyone know why this is and how I can change it? Thanks!
  22. http://i.imgur.com/ZMQqLJP.png Could someone please explain why one business has a brown marker, whilst the other has a red marker? If I zoom out any further the brown marker disappears and Google maps then only shows the businesses with the red marker, making that business far more prominent. Notice the purple link in the image below is second on Google's ranking, yet it's hardly ranked for the map at all other than the brown place marker. I'm trying to get it to appear on the map to the right of the search like the other nurseries have done. Any advice at all is deeply appreciated! http://imgur.com/fDuWQd0
  23. I'm wondering, if you are offering a SEO service and claiming that you can gain enough backlinks for people so that they are ranked highly on Google then that is unrealistic isn't it? I've just set up my website (http://www.codexx.co.uk/) and I'm hopefully going to have some customers soon, this backlinking campaign is confusing me, the way that you approach websites and then gain backlinks to the website you are offering seems like quite a hard task. You will have to sign up many accounts to post on forums that are relevant to your customers niche, if you were to do this then wouldn't you have many emails to your email address about the registration of someone else's account. For example, if I had a customer that ran a gardening business and then I went to sign up their business to put their name and a link to their website wouldn't I get loads of information from those websites to MY email address, that would get annoying having signed your email address for a forum. And other ways to gain backlinks to your website, for example posting a story to a local newspaper so that they can include your name on their website. I don't see how I'm going to create an interesting story and then post it to a local newspapers website. I can't think of anything to do with my business that is so interesting that it goes in the newspaper and I doubt I could submit something to a local newspaper about someone elses business. Surely that's an unrealistic expectation to completely SEO their website so that it's at the top of google with many high quality backlinks, that'd take ages to think up an interesting "story" about your business. I've actually created a facebook page for my business (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Codexx/399796176823815?fref=ts), but as I'm still new it kind of sucks. I can't think of what to write on my page that is interesting about my business. I have a logo but still, as I'm new, it's not very attractive to potential customers. I've never been the kind of person to write interesting stories and I've always kind of failed to make what I write interesting, on my website page the content I write seems generic and bland, nothing interesting to bring in the customers, I've taken a look at other websites but just can't think of what to write to make it sound interesting. So yeah, doesn't it seem a little bit too much effort for SEO, not only are you including keywords into your customers website but you've got to go out of your way to write stories and post interesting information on websites on the internet.

    Making Adsense responsive

I've almost finished a responsive redesign of my own website http://www.nielsharbo.dk/index-eng.php But I came across a problem with Goggle Adsense blocks. The Code that Adsense provides is rendering the ads with fixed width and they state that you are not alowed to edit the code. I was very suprised that the Adsense developpers doesn't offer a responsive option in the API. I've found several blog posts recomending to use a JavaScript conditional stement to check the width of the browser window and embed adblocks in different sizes based on this condition. The articles I've read claim that Google have aproved this workaround but I cant seem to find any documentation from google to confirm this. Have any of you fine forum members any knowledge/expierince on this topic ???
