Does downloading an image from What's App change the image's extension?

Featured Replies

If I exchange an image through WhatsApp and if I download that image, will the extension of the image change? I heard from a friend of mine that downloading an image from WhatsApp changes the extension of that image.

That's jpeg Or png whatever the image. But I didn't find that. So I'm interested to know if it is really? Does WhatsApp have any different extensions?

check whatsapp documentation. do a test with your friend - send in several formats or ask them to send to you

It is always best to share files or images through email for better quality but if you use whatsapp I would suggest you to send or accept images in document form instead of png & jpeg to maintain its quality.

Hope I am clear to your question!
