So late last year I was approached by someone to do a design job. I went through all the meetings, asking questions to get the info I need to do a quote. I then spent the time putting a proposal and a quote and send it through to the client. I then contact them again letting them know it's been sent and for them to read it and get back to me. I've was hired to to do a website project. However this job has become quite difficult and I'm at the point where I want to leave as it's become stressful and it won't get any better. Client changes the specs of the project on the fly. Tells me that they want specific features. I go and add it and when I'm speaking to them later, they say "I never asked for that" we go back and forth and I remind them of when they requested it and they flat out deny it. They claim that they have notes of the project and can prove to me that they never requested this and that I'm wrong. We run/manage multiple client websites (mainly WordPress) and found that the post-launch side of agency work often gets scattered across too many places: Trello for tasks, spreadsheets for renewals, email for support, separate uptime tools, password vaults, reporting docs, hosting notes, etc. I’m interested in how other small agencies handle this. Do you keep everything in one system, or is it normal to have a stack of separate tools? The areas I’m especially interested in are website maintenance, domain/hosting renewals, uptime monitoring, client reporting, support requests and tracking recurring work. Any feedback would be gratefully received.

Do I need a lawyer or a legal insurance? And what about contracts? Maybe it would be easier to go as a fake customer to an agency, feel their experience and also to get their contracts to use as a basis of my own? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am new to freelancing and I wanted to ask you what is the best way to upload a video. If it is directly on the website it is a lot of bandwidth (no?) I saw there is such a thing for sale as a freelancer bundle, a guy sells all templates you need for contract, etc. BUT he is in US. I wanted to know if anyone knew of any such offers in Germany? Hi everyone; got a bit of a frustrating situation I was hoping some kind folks could help with. I'll try to be brief: I took on a project for a food brand this time last year which involved a website and a product photo shoot. My client to whom I was providing web maintenance services on a monthly basis is now wanting to shift to a quarterly service, i.e., they want me to service their website only once in three months. I suspect web design is one of those businesses where apart from the usual consumables, there isn't a great deal you can you can claim through the business. I buy a new PC every couple of years and put my home working allowance through. Some printer cartridges, petrol to see clients etc. As it's purely a service that's provided with no regular consumable items as such, I wonder what everyone else does. I want to get a very basic website for a new home-based computer repair business. Hi I have been building websites for a few years. I have been using Tsohost to temporarily host my clients websites. I had bought group hosting. It was a great feature as you could use a temporary gridhosted domain and it enabled us to work on the site in private. Once the client had decided approved the website it could be moved onto their current hosting to replace their old website. First off, I have to clarify I am in Australia...but this is a general type question. I'm involved in a startup that has spent about 18 months refining a sustainable business model before we actually started development. I've just checked their site ukwda.org and it's offline. Their Facebook and Twitter pages don't show any posts after 2014/2015 respectively. We were one of the first agencies to join the UKWDA after they launched in 2001. To be honest I can't say there was any real support given other than it being a relevant listing service. You would think that given the size of the web design and development industry in the UK that there would be a decent industry body to support and help provide some guidance.
