I need a basic website (1 page or maybe 3), no e-commerece. I'm a computer technician working from home and just need my email, phone number and basic description of what I do to appear in Google searches around my city area in Slough (UK). I'd provide the logo, wording etc. I have bought the domain (hover.com) and web hosting (siteground.com) already. Basically: I tried doing the website myself with wordpress but I have no time! Ok, so I've been freelancing for nearly 2 years now and things have been going well. But not well enough. The business is getting by financially and I'm managing to pay the rent and feed the kids! I have a client who is married to an MP - I manage their Mailchimp account and they have a distribution list of about 5000 email accounts. The husband wants to use this distribution list to send out a personal email (in his name) discussing his political views. His physical address and phone number will be shown (suicidal in my eyes...) and it would come from his personal email account. Firstly, is this spam? He's sending it as himself not as a business. I've been doing freelance web design for about a year. I recently caught an awesome big-fish client who has hired me to do PDF to HTML/CSS work on a large corporation's website. I've been hired at an hourly rate and given a max number of hours that I can bill for weekly. My rate is on the lower side of average for what an experienced US developer would usually charge, but quite high compared to what I can usually get. I'm not complaining. I am being given medium-simple designs to convert to their HTML template. Howdy all Me and my partner have been developing a website for the past couple of weeks and it will be launching next week, or just after. The website is aimed at females and their clothes. I was cold called by a saleswomen from yell who sold me a try before you buy listing- where you get to have a listing for 2 months, and if you want to you can cancel and not pay a penny (I had just set the business, so a bit of free advertising was what I needed) The next thing I know I got a letter stating I owe them £235. So after many, many, maaaany letters from yell, and phone calls from me to them, they have now passed the matter on to a debt recovery company. GRRRR! I know this company has to make a profit but charging these prices is ridiculous.
