  1. Thank you for explaining the conditional logic and the other hosting suggestions. Its very much appreciated, thank you.
  2. Hi both, thank you so much for replying. I'm very grateful. The hosting company looks a lot better than Ionos so thank you for that recommendation. The wholesale products will be different and have different shipping and different selling points. We could direct the trade customers to the subdomain and they would see a different selling approach. That's why I thought multisite would be the answer but it seems like I'm wrong 😕 @Fisicx, you mention that my plan won't work with multisite. Please can you explain why? I really need to understand. I have had issues with premium WooCommerce plugins in the past so I hadn't considered that the wholesale plugin might actually be a good one. So thanks for that too. @BlueDreamerThe retail customers will be able to order as guests (not logged in) so I am unsure if using conditional logic in the templates work?
  3. Thank you so much for replying. I have been asked to build two shops. So the main domain https://ourshop.com will have the retail shop and I was planning to set up wholesale.ourshop.com for the B2B shop which is much smaller. If I used a temp url would it be easy to change the nameservers so that subdomain works too? Could you recommend a decent hosting company please?
  4. Hi I've been asked to build a WP multisite. It will be two shops - B2C and B2B. The client already has a simple website on his domain which I want to keep live until the new is ready. I'm thinking of building the site on hosting such as Ionos and use their temp url. Then point the domain to the hosting when its finished. This is my usual approach but the subdomain and multisite issues is making it more complicated. I've spoken to a few hosting companies who aren't helpful at all. They couldn't even tell me if I could use their standard hosting for multisites. So should I build the main site (set it up as multisite), point the domain, then set up the subdomain and build the second shop. I'm not sure of the correct steps because of the subdomain issue and I can't find the info anywhere. I have even though of buying a cheap domain and using that for the build process. But again I am not sure of the steps for pointing a domain and subdomain. Do I set up the subdomain with the domain registrar or hosting? Any advice welcome as I've been going around in circles.
  5. Hello. I've been asked to build a website for a local languages school. They've got about 6 tutors and they do 1-2-1 classes. They want to be able to teach online via live video which will be for individuals not groups. I've looked at their competitors and its pretty common. They also want the students to pay in advance and then have a live video online lesson. Can anyone recommend the best video streaming software for this purpose please?
  6. Thanks everyone for your really helpful suggestions 😀
  7. Hi thanks for replying. Yes we cant to publish the contents of the spreadsheet on the site. I will check O365 thanks. I was hoping there was a plugin out there that would display it as a table but I cant find anything.
  8. Hello. We have a Wordpress website and we want to be able to publish Excel spreadsheets on the site. The spreadsheets are updated weekly and ideally we would like to link the spreadsheets automatically. I've only managed to find ipushipull software but I believe they charge £250 pm which is way outside our budget. Does anyone have any suggestions for how we could do this?
  9. Hello I really like this Flash 'build your own' product at http://www.prestiges...latemaker/ and we would like something similar created for our website. But I'm concerned that mobile and tablet users wont be able to view it so is there any alternative which could be used to create something of similar quality to this? I cant help thinking that with mobile devices set to dominate the browsing market that we really cant afford to alienate any of them by using Flash. But so many big sites are using it still. What do you guys think?
  10. Its a bit strange with Flickr as I've been warned by users online that they are strict about commercial use of their albums and they will delete our photos with no warning if we are caught. Yet I'm sure Zed you are right about photographers. Mmm. Its hard to know what to do as I dont want my client's photos suddenly disappearing. I will look into the Pro option though so thanks for that. Thanks SEO Traffic for your suggestions but are they all for Joomla? My website has been built with Dreamweaver. I've used Galleria lightbox in the past on other projects but this needs to be dead easy for the client to edit. I was really hoping that there was another Flickr-type site out there. Someone has mentioned Picasa so I'm going to check that out too.
  11. Hello I am building a website for a client and I need advice pls. I wanted to insert a Flickr photo album which will show as a slide show on the site with the aim of enabling the client to update the slide show (i.e. add or delete images). But Flickr is non-commercial so I'm struggling to find something similar which allows businesses to use it. Its got to be simple for the client to update too. Can anyone help me please?
  12. Hi I've got a client who is insisting that their new site is designed using Drupal. I've only used Dreamweaver and CMS systems like Perch so I'm new to all this. The client is useless with pcs so someone else has convinced them the only way is Drupal. Is it easy to learn? They only want a small site so Im not sure if its worth me learning a new package just for them. But if Drupal is ace then is that the way to go for future work too? Can you change the html and css with it? Is it better than Wordpress? Any thoughts or opinions much appreciated.
  13. Hi I've been asked by a client to add an online booking system to his site. He needs a system which allow customers to book slots by the hour with different prices for different time slots. I've found a similar system in use by spheremania.com but their system costs £2k to set up and £100 p.m. which is too much for my client. I've had a hunt around and I cant find any other similar system. Can anyone suggest a similar booking system for less? Any suggestions gratefully received
  14. Thanks guys. I will certainly think about all your comments and look into all your suggestions. Much appreciated
