Dear forum experts,

 

I finally decided to have my logo re-constructed but the new image in PNG just won't show up on the browser.

 

Can somebody kind enough to advise me what's wrong with the attached logo?

 

I suspect the designer needs to do some formatting in illustrator before giving me the PNG file right?

 

 

And the worse thing is that the image shows the jagged parts again which was the reason I wanted it re-constructed.

 

As I'm not trained in graphic design, I hope somebody can tells me how to resolve the above.

You might need to upgrade from IE6 first of all

 

It might depend on which settings they used to create/export it, the font, dimensions, resolutions.. Could you not recreate it yourself? With all due respect, you don't need to be a graphic designer to recreate it, nor do you need an expensive graphics program. Use something like inkscape to create a vector version of your logo (depending if you'll use it for other mediums) or make a raster version in Gimp. Both programs are free.

 

All you need to do is use the same font and colours, rotate the '5' and and an outline/stroke to it. The tracking hasn't been adjusted on this, so should take you minutes. Re-export at a higher setting and you may find your problem solved.

I don't see the point in paying for a logo if you are relying on the old logo. As per your original post

You do not need to be trained in graphic design to rectify your issue. As I suggested in the previous post, you can do this yourself.Of course you could go back to the person you paid to have it redone. If you weren't/aren't happy with it, you need to speak to your graphic designer.

 

As I said in my reply, it is very easily replicated in free software at no added cost and with no real learning curve.

 

Here's an example I just made up that has also been optimised as well to give you an example.

I downloaded your logo and resize it to 281px by 80px but when I embedded into my coding, it's still won't show up!!!

 

Please advise why?

post link to the site with the logo in - how can we tell otherwise? check the links, check you've uploaded it to the server. type the path to the image on the server and see if it shows up. empty your cache in your browser and see if it shows up. check the link in your html and then double check to make sure thefilename is correct (uppercase/lowercase, spaces, etc) preferably the filename hasn't got special charcacters (e.g. +), spaces, or capital letters in it.

 

all kudos to 4li4s for recreating this for you but if you've paid to get this done then you should go back to the original design and tell them your complaint i'm pretty sure i offered to do this for you ages ago - or i was going to - before you paid anyone. such a few minutes job that it's not worth paying someone to do it maybe you should pay someone to help woith your website?

First off, you're welcome. As I said in my first reply I joked about IE6 due to displaying png's to which you replied

Perhaps if you say which browser you are using and the version, you might find a solution. Are you testing in multiple browsers? Are you specifying the correct path to your files?

Again, agreed. Likewise - I would have done the logo for you at no expense as it really was a matter of minutes in re-creating it. Even with the correct font, dimensions and optimisation, you're looking it at less than 10 minutes (depending on the speed of your computer).

I tried png as the extension instead of PNG and it works.

 

Now, my problem is that the re-sized image is still showing aliasing or jagged.

 

As I'm no expert in graphic tool, can somebody kindly advise is it because the size is not taken from the working file directly that causes this?
