August 26, 201313 yr Hi there, I am hoping some one will be able to help me. I am changing the colours of a client's website for them in a PSD layout. I have all the files but I cannot for the life of me seem to edit any of it. The client has managed to do it so I am not sure what I am missing. When I select an item within a layer and try to edit it I just get the "the content is not directly editable". It's driving me insane, please can someone tell me where I am going wrong Thanks in advance :-)
August 26, 201313 yr The layer may be locked, or you are trying to apply a raster change to a vector layer. Kinda hard to know without seeing what you are trying to do.
August 26, 201313 yr Author Ok the only way I can change the colour is to "Raterize" the layer but then the edges of the circle shape is shocking
August 26, 201313 yr If it's a smart object, you can double click on the layer icon (the one on the left with a small lock). The object will open in a new file and you can edit it. You need to save it and then when you view your original file, it will reflect the changes you made. No need to rasterize it More info directly from Adobe http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WSACAD27BE-C403-47f2-BE6A-BDFBE87CDA57.html
August 27, 201313 yr if you're still stuck take a screen shot showing the layers panel (with all the releveant layers unfolded) so we can see
