Hello,

I am trying to design a logo for my website. I know what I want but cannot create it. Have a look at the attached picture, it is a part of my logo but I want to make it like a vector.. like wings on the second attached picture.

 

I know the first picture is low quality but it is just to show you to get idea about what I am saying. (I got a high quality one as well)

 

I tried "Live Trace" in Illustrator but did not make it like the wings in the picture. I really do not know what should I do to create what I want.

 

Do you think can I create it if I draw it on the paper and then scan it, and by the "Live Trace" tool in Illustrator, create something like the attached wings. Can it work?

 

I generally need some advice about it.

Just be a massive Buzz kill and nick one of the wings.

 

Its all over Google images and I've seen images like that ALL over the place, constantly. Same as human vectors, ones similar to these:

Its a part of life, especially since Fotolia's watermarking is so terrible.

3-4 hours of the the manual tracing in CorelDraw or Illustrator (yes, it's a laborious task, I know) and fully vectorized logo is yours, obtained by lawful and fair means, BTW.

Yes I have asked this question before but as you can see no one have a solution to do this task. I have tried tracing in Illustrator but did not work actually.

 

I am sure there is a why to create the proper vector, otherwise how they created these wings, which are available everywhere in the internet ???

TBH, I don't see a problem. There's nothing to prevent you from manual tracing.

Then you didn't do it right. Lev posted some great resources.

 

You need to MANUALLY trace the wing with the pen tool. It's going to be a huge pain and take some skill but it can be done and WILL work. The results depend solely on your ability with the pen tool, so if it comes out like crap, you need to practice more.

I haven't been on this forum for long but I do remember when this member and logo popped up last time, I had my suspicions that it wouldn't ever come to fruition.

 

Now when you say it didn't work in illustrator did you mean that it is beyond illustrators capabilities or did you mean that it was beyond your capabilities? Because I have to tell you, Illustrator is more than capable of vectorising what is effectively a series of mishapen oblongs.

 

There is nothing wrong with not knowing how to do something, everybody starts somewhere, it is just that last time I was met with such hostility from you.

I could create what I wanted by drawing on the paper and converting it to vector by Xara Xtreme.

You've been told twice now how to do this (and the answer is NOT live trace). Place it onto a document, lock it, trace it with the PEN TOOL.

On a serious note, Pen tool really isn't that hard in Photoshop or Illustrator.

 

Can't be a designer if you cant use that tool, its so Powerful!

And yet your post (about this same logo) back in June paints the picture that you are already an advanced user of Illustrator, which makes me wonder, how does someone become an advanced user of Illustrator without coming across the pen tool?

 

Thank you for your respond. First of all, I read my post again and I never said I am a basic user of Photoshop or Illustrator, as you might be new in this forum, you need to know most of the users here got technical knowledge about what they are talking about, so clearly does not need your explanation about the process of hiring a professional designer. I might do not have enough experience in converting image to vector but at least I know how to work with Illustrator.

 

It beggars belief...

HAHAA, I am trying to close this thread, but do not know what you want to prove.

It seams there is a problem with your reading and understanding skills. I did not said I am advanced in Illustrator, I said "I might do not have enough experience in converting image to vector but at least I know how to work with Illustrator". *In your case you need to read a few times to understand this sentence. However, I think my sentence is clear for everyone and does not need more description.

 

 

Sorry but you, by posting irrelevant answers, do not let threads follow their normal path, and if you read my previous posts a few times more, you will see that I could design what I wanted. So please DO NOT WASTE USERS TIME and to be honest I do not want to see you posts in my threads any more, otherwise I have to report you as a spam.(the same as last time)

It's slightly amusing when someone who posts in broken English suggests that another has trouble with reading and understanding skills. Pot meet kettle?

 

It's also amusing when someone who obviously doesn't have the technical ability to solve relatively novice tasks in Illustrator insults the people who post helpful tips in his thread.

 

Don't be a toolbag. A bunch of us posted the answer you needed in both of your threads a bunch of times and you just ignored our advice. You can imagine that one would be hostile with you after that.

You have been told several times how to go about this to accomplish your goals but seem to ignore everyone and even berate another user who, in my opinion, gave you some very sound advice you should listen too.
