June 17, 201115 yr Might be a few of these as im getting used to AI Im trying to create this sticker for someone: The "Highwaystar" one on the window. I have found a close enough font, but need a way to create the outline effect. I have tried to layer the item, and put a heavy fill and stroke the same colour, then placed it underneath. This looks 100% correct, but when i got to use with a vnyl cutter, the stroke doesnt appear. are stroke created in AI no vector? or is theres something i have done wrong? Craig. June 17, 201115 yr Author Once again, nevermind! Have figured it out. Probably the cheating way though! I copied the text from AI to Photoshop, then created the outline in PS. I then copied back over and live traced it. Viola Works so is good enough for me!
June 17, 201115 yr Your printer is probably a moron. Strokes should have no problem printing. But in the case that you can't correct his "issue", there is no reason to take it over to Photoshop. You just need to convert your strokes to paths. 1. I assume you are making your live text into paths (you should be when sending to the printer). Type - Create Outlines. 2. Object - Path - Outline Stroke But your printer should be able to print strokes but this eliminates the strokes and turns it into a path instead.
