Hello there, my name's Shane, i'm fairly new to web design I have self taught myself over the past 8 months how to use WordPress and various plugins that make it easy for me to design websites. I've joined this forum to hopefully get help from designers/developers with a lot more experience than me, and i'm also here to help out in any way that I can too. - Shane

I'm Alan, I don't class myself as a web designer - but more of a web dev, but I have built tons of websites over the last 10 years. Useful forum, so thought I'd join.

I hope that's ok, being a .co.uk? I'm from Brighton originally, and I'm working on sites that promote peer-to-peer interactions, distributed networks and stuff like that. I have been designing websites for approx over a year now my self. I did use Joomla many years ago as a one off and never found it easier however since I started my own business http://www.blazeboxmarketing.co.uk I have been using Wordpress constantly. Most designers I've spoken to find Joomla easier to use... which do you think is best and more friendly to offer web design services.

Hello folks- i need your help, i was desinger a wordpress website using the localhost server (XAMPP) and i have managed to create this website. Now the issue is that i was learning how to migrate this website from the localhost to a free hosting live server; Here are some of the steps i performed; Step 1: i exported the local database by accessing the http://localhost/phpmyadmin and i clicked on the database which i was working on and clicked on "Export". From there i secelected the "Quick method" and then i Clicked on "Go" to export the database in the download folder on my machine.
