Hello I've just updated our free website builder to create sites using bootstrap templates and would appreciate some feedback. The program simply parses text from a PC based XML text file into a Bootstrap template to automatically create all of the pages, menu, and links etc. The advantage is that its very quick to use and doesn't need an online database, so it creates fast, lightweight sites. Appreciate any comments or ideas for improvements. Other than that I just need to update the documentation and add some more bootstrap templates (examples welcome) to finish. There is a introduction video and download at pureseocms.com

Hello everyone I hope I am posting in the right place! This will be a long post, so my apologies in advance. I have not studied web design/development at all other than a brief module in BTEC ICT Level 2 which was very basic. That was some years ago now, and due to personal circumstances at the time I did not continue to level 3 and then to degree level as planned. I am now extremely determined to study and have a successful career within IT. I have always felt web design/development is what I want to do. I was planning on studying access to computing and then going on to HNC/HND or BSc. There are no colleges within a reasonable distance offering the access to comput…

Hi! I am in web-development since 2002 and right now I am looking for students who need guidance on one of the topics that I have good experience with. The reason is I'm looking to create video courses, so in that effort I'm looking to accept a limited number of one-on-one students who will get guidance from me during live video sessions with screen sharing. My skills are primarily javascript, related tooling and techniques, backend javascript, node.js, npm, build tools and task runners, frontend techniques, css3, html5, basic and advanced topics. Or if you need help to quickly host html pages you've just created free of charge. Check my profile at https://www…

Hi everyone New to this forum and looking forward to interacting with you all. Been doing web design for two years now but still need to exchange ideas.

Hey guys/gals just started my journey into being a web developer...Learning through Lynda.com and various book and online resources and trial and error through the text editor brackets. I've got a question though...Probably really basic though, but i am going to create a site/blog: 1. For detailing my journey through the form of a blog 2. For portfolio site and to in the long-term show of my site and other small sites i will create. So i can easily create a site through wordpress or weebly right now using template etc, but then this is obviously me not creating a site through the skills I'm learning, so do i create a site through wordpress short-term and then m…

Hi There! I'm Nick Strife, 26 years old and living in North East England. I've been building websites since the days of Geocities as a hobby. In the past couple of years I've been completing projects for clients as a freelancer and learning more and more outside the scope of just HTML and CSS; dabbling in JS/Jquery, PHP, C#, ASP.NET and mySQL/SQL. I'm at the point now where I feel I'd learn more if I got involved with a community so here I am!

Hello, Not really sure what to write here but here it goes. I have over ten years coding experience on and off, I've never really stuck to a language to learn it inside out. I tend to just ticker with it and forget it. But no more! I need to start being dedicated with a language or three and learn it properly, so here I am to become dedicated. I've tinkered with: HTML CSS Javascript Ajax PHP Batch VB C++ I really want to learn more about Photoshop so I can produce my companies graphics and not outsource like we do at the moment. Anyway enough of me blabbing! Regards, Jon

Hi all. I know absolutely nothing about web design/development so am having a nightmare trying to identify suitable training. Ive always been really interested in the subject but never had the time to do anything about it. I am currently not working due to health reasons so now have plenty of time to study!! My intention is to initially work part time making and maintaining websites for myself and trying to drum up business through friends and family. If Im enjoying it then I could aim to go freelance or work for a company. So I will need to be able to do both aspects of design and development. Ive spent hours researching training suppliers but its a minefield!…

Hello All, I am a 62 year old with some self learned experience. I have used Dreamweaver 4 for my website building but need some guidance with my next step. The website in question is www.nazeinghackers.com which is a datadase drive website for a golfing society. It uses an Access DB and therefore a windows server to host it. I found the database design and querying so easy in access. It now holds a lot of history. I would like to convert it (re-write it) to a "normal" database website but do not know my best way forward. I am confused as to which way i should go to best do the job. I am in no way a coding person, I can sometimes understand and alter bits.…

Hello all. I'm new here and after already browsing around the forums, i'm very excited to get stuck in. I've never designed as a pro, just self taught and did some small freelance projects a few years back. I drifted from design and started an online vintage shop, which is great, but I miss designing, so i'm back to brush up on my skills and maybe change my paths a little. And that's me. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi guys I've visited a few times as a guest and thought it was time I joined. Been a designer since the late '80s (started at grammar school) and the current go to software for simple sites is adobe muse, for me it allows the freedom of design I have in illustrator or photoshop. I can't wait to get some posts under my belt. asif

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group and pretty new to web design too. Joined hoping to learn a bit from others and to get a little support when I invariably get stuck from time to time. Recently started learning so I have a long way to go yet, but I've done a few client projects using Wordpress. Here's what I have done so far (from starting to most recent): http://www.lawclaim.net http://www.aviationaudiobooks.com http://www.bigsportsdiary.com http://www.mrboothy.com.au For some reason, designing my own site seems to be a lot harder. I feel that I am getting better but I'll let you guys be the judge of that! Anyway, nice to 'meet' you all. Hope to ch…
