I'm running a computer repair business and I'm doing everything myself including the website. I made the website in Joomla and my primary goal atm is to increase my conversion rate in any way I can. My site is in Swedish but I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the translated version and let me know if you see how it could be improved. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=sv&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.supernorden.se%2F Google kind of screwed up the first part of the website. The picture of the guy is supposed to be right next to the introductory text. Otherwise I'm happy to be here and I'm looking forward to lear…

Hey guys, my name is Andrew. I started out with web development back in 99, back when Internet Explorer had like 90% market share My main interests (with regards to webdev) are front-end development, user experience design, basically anything coding-related. I'm glad to be here and looking forward to learning a lot in this forum and adding some of my own experiences where I can. Hope to see you all around, have a great day.

Hi, My name is Penny Halsall (nellipope). I'm a freelance graphic designer, who really thought she could get to grips with web design. But hey that world moves insanely fast for me. I'm now in a position to work with a developer. So I'm really interested interested in joining this forum, for help and advice on finding a developer(s), and also technical advice on running the websites I have put together and now need to manage. Speaking of which I have a pressing need for technical advice today, on uploading a new website to fasthost, something has gone insanely wrong and I'm not sure where to turn. Can't find a suitable forum for this particular problem within …

Hello, I want to Design Wordpress Theme. Convert HTML to Wordpress Theme. anyone can help me for Designing.

Hi everyone! I'm Mike. I've been building websites for about 12-13 years now and love web development. However in recent years I've primarily been running a web hosting business named Ngage Hosting which excites me even more. Sadly I'm not very good at web design (my business partner who handles everything design related) but I look forward to discussing development/hosting in the relevant forums and perhaps even pick up a few design tips here. Mike

Hi there I have been learning to web design for a few years but never found the correct way or the best way of putting the code to be correct. I have done this simple page but the image has disappeared and wondered if someone would take a look at it and tell me why is the image not showing? index.css index.html

Hi All I'm searching for solutions and found you guys. Interestingly, I haven't found a 'search' button yet - am I missing something? To be honest, I feel a fraud as web development is way down my list of priorities, but I've been tinkering and helping admin(s) with various sites since 1993! My forte is in commercial sound reinforcement, recording and concert PA systems, and I've been involved with electronics and computing since 1990, (ah, the days when DOS used to mean Disk Operating System and not Denial of Service!). You guessed it - I'm a (not so) silver surfer - not old enough for a bus pass, but dependent on my children to keep up my development. Havin…

Hi everyone, This is my first post so i hope you are able to help. I have been learning code for about 6 months and have a decent grasp on HTML, CSS and JS, I am also currently learning PHP. The problem I have is I have learnt the theory of these languages but struggle to put them into practice efficiently with a blank canvas, so I use templates as the base of practice designs, and when it comes to editing my skills are actually quite strong. My question is: What are the rules for using the edited templates I have as practice projects in a portfolio to attract prospective clients? Will they obstruct any sort of copyright if I state my name and the template creators …

Just a quick introduction. Although new to this forum, I've been doing website design for about ten years. In the past I used the now defunt XSite Pro software, which I thought was very good. Now I'm trying to get to grips with Xara Web Designer 11, but struggling. A question: I'd like to post a wish-list to find some web design software. I'd guess the Web Design Scripts & Software would be the best sub-forum - unless anyone suggests somewhere else?

I am looking for the best website builder which has all the features that are required for website building. With a beautiful responsive layout able to view in all mobile platforms.

And that's because the forum I've been posting on since 2007 now gets an overwhelming stream if 'hi I've just joined this forum' posts from new members who never return to contribute. Probably because they think Social Media Profiles still have value... Anyway, back to me. I've been building websites since the old King died. Back when Netscape 4 was the top browser and Yahoo was the place to get ranked (Google didn't even exist back then). During all the intervening years I've discovered all sorts of things. The most important of these is: it doesn't matter what you like, it only matters what a potential customer likes. I've looked at a lot of the threads in t…

I look forward to talking to some of you in the near future :-) Cheers for your time Simon (United Kingdom)

Hi, I asked a question re: twin monitors elsewhere on this site. The reason I have been asked by My Club to take over running the Web Site, being the one most likely to want to do it. The previous web master was using Word Press so I decide to follow in his foot steps. It is difficult doing that and with the fullness of time I will design my own web Site. First to learn, I decided to set up two monitors, but having a little difficulty syncing the two. My aim is to follow instructions on One and do the exercises on the other and follow various designs on this Forum. I am retired and now 77, need something to keep it all working and rather enthusiastic about my…
