Signing in with your display name will no longer be supported. This is a change in Invision Community 5, the software that powers Web Designer Forum. What you need to do Before 6 July, please check that: You know which email address is linked to …

Sponsors of our forum, 20i, have just released an exclusive web designer survey. Here are some key takeaways: 💰 90% of designers say clients regularly underestimate the true cost of professional web design. 🤖 75% report that competition from AI and automated tools has made their business more challenging this year. 🎯 3 in 4 professionals are finding it harder to secure high-quality new clients. 🤷 Over half struggle with a lack of clear career progression in their current roles. 🗺️ Nearly 80% of designers would relocate to a different city or state. That's not a typo from a sloppy admin - it's the first message ever sent via ARPANET on 29 October 1969. That's 56 years ago for those of you counting! I find it a little strange that we (humanity) managed to get to the moon and back before the internet was able to transmit as much as "LO". Happy International Internet Day! Greetings, forum denizens! National Computer Security Day is on 30 November 2025. We're web designers, so using strong passwords, updating software, backing up data and enabling multi-factor authentication is part of our process - or should be! Criminals are getting more effective at causing trouble thanks to AI. You might be able to spot fakes quickly, but would your older relatives? Here's a video that might help them (and you) to discern what's real and what's not: What proactive steps are you going to take to protect your digital information?

Big news from the EU. They have just released a new European Accessibility Act for apps and websites. Make sure you have a read of what changes you need to make. Don't want anyone getting fines. To put it short, you need to comply with EAA’s accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Hello! 20i have just published a study on green energy and internet services: https://www.20i.com/green-survey They asked some interesting questions: Would you pay more for a greener tool or service? How important is sustainability compared with price and features? Have you ever avoided a tool or service due to environmental concerns? What are your thoughts? And what do your customers say? I didn’t expect 68% of people to say they actively consider the environmental impact of the digital tools and services they use! .image-container { background-color: #ebdfcf; display: inline-block; } .image-container { background-…

We've updated the design of the site - we hope you like it! As I write many of the posts are still being moved over: it's taking hours! Some of the changes are still in the queue so please bear with us while this happens. It should be completed by the end of today. There are lots of other changes in the pipeline but your feedback on the forum's current state would be invaluable, thanks. EDIT 20/12/17: After much strife we found a 'hidden' setting that prevented standard members posting here. Sorry, you can post here now.

Good news everyone! The Web Designer Forum will be getting a long-overdue facelift soon. We’ll be removing some of the less popular and monetised sections of the forum, including the classified ads, job ads and the market. The new-look site will be more mobile-friendly and have a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Our aim is to bring the site back to its roots: a friendly area where like-minded individuals can help each other, get advice and receive constructive criticism. We’ll be doing some tidying-up but most of the subforums will remain the same, as will most published posts. Your sign-in details will remain the same. ...and we need your help: Is …

Hi, Based on the suggestion from @@Jack we're pleased to be now using 'Mentions' , you can easily mention members within all your posts or topics, the mentioned user will then be notified via the forum notification system. Simply using the @ symbol followed by the username of the member you want to mention & it will create a link to the users profile. Hint: Using the link under the users avatar on posts, acts as a shortcut for mentioning them within your replies. Example below:

Hi, Some new members are finding it difficult posting new topics/replies with the current "You need 25 posts/topics to create links" limit in please, the module we purchased to police this is very buggy e.g. members can't post smilies and even code snippets, which is just ridiculous, and clearly this needs to change... So we're running a trial where we'll be removing this limit and test if it has any affects on spam here on the forum, I think many members here are vigilant when it comes to reporting spam and letting us know by using the "report post" button on anything dodgey, which we're all thankful for, plus with the addition to 3 new moderators, we're much better eq…
