New 'Resources' page

Featured Replies

Hello, everyone

I hope 2025 is off to a fantastic start for you all!

You'll see a new menu item called Resources.

This page has links to a ton of tools, software and other useful resources that will help with your web design adventures. I've put them into categories to make things easier to find:

  • Inspiration
  • Free images & video
  • Design
  • Front-end coding
  • Video & audio editing
  • Business tools
  • Analytics tools
  • Project management tools
  • SEO software
  • Marketing tools

Enjoy!

If I've missed anything then please do let me know and I'll get it added 😁

Good idea, a couple of bits on there I'd never heard of which I'll definitely be checking out.

If you're looking to grow the list any further, seoreviewtools.com is a great resource for SEO's, a whole bunch of free tools on there which have helped me out in a pinch many times!

I just wanted to say I have a paid subscription to Built For Mars and I love it. I always find bits I can use to add to my work so I'm glad it got a mention on here!

Figma have a free plan, so it would be worth adding them to the list for web design.

I've never seen the point of Figma.

Almost all design work results from the content and navigation. You build a framework to hold the content, sort out the navigation, headers and footers and the calls to action.

And as most sites are built using a CMS, once you have the right theme everything else is just CSS.

Consider also that most browsing is done using mobile devices so any design work should start with a small screen then be responsive across the range of screen sizes. Figma isn't very good at this.
