  1. Has anyone logged onto Hotmail recently? I'm sure we all have email accounts through out domains, but before I started out I, along with the rest of the world (ish), had a Hotmail account - I still use it for non we-related stuff - ebay, logins etc. Microsoft has decided to retire the Hotmail brand, and instead blend it into Outlook (outlook.com) Has anyone tried it out yet? First impressions? I personally quite like it. It's very clean, minimal a nice colour scheme. It's not too dissimilar to Hotmail, but with a few cosmetic tweaks. I also like the Metro integration when you click the little downwards arrow next to the Outlook logo. You have the floor. What do you think of it?
  2. You've done an amazing job on the new site - I personally don't see what their problem is, apart from, as Mike says, not wanting to pay.
  3. As it turns out, the change in the database did naff all for future pages. I just created a new page and we're back to where we started. I agree that the permalink set up should have worked, and i'm a little confused as to why it didn't. But thank you for correcting my template! The only way around it would be to use a post for each one and assign it the category of Actor, which to be fair is no major biggy - I just wanted to differenciate between the two.
  4. Sussed it. For those having a similar problem, you're gonna need to access your Wordpress database. Log in to PHPmyadmin (or equivalent) and select your database from the left hand column and navigate down to wp_posts. Somewhere in the list of posts & pages you'll find the page you wish to change. Click edit and simply change the name of it in the post_title and post_name fields. Save it and you're good to go. This may not be the correct way to do it, but it certainly worked for me.
  5. Evening all. This might be something simple, but it's doing my nut in that I can't figure it out! Basically, i'm setting up some pages in a Wordpress install for various Actors and my current URL is: http://thevoic.es/sample-page/andrew-garfield How would I go about getting it to read as: actors/andrew-garfield instead? My permalinks are set up as /%category%/%postname%/ but the category for this particular page is Actors, so i'm at a loss as to why it's displaying as sample-page. I'm using a custom template containg the following for now: <?php /* Template Name: Actor */ ?> <?php get_header(); ?> <div id="thePage"> <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <?php the_content(); ?> <?php endwhile; endif; ?> </div> <?php get_footer(); ?> Like I say, it might be something simple that i'm overlooking, but another pair of eyes or a more awake mind might be able to figure it out!
  6. Away from the computer. It may sound fairly ridiculous considering the computer is where the ideas will eventually manefest, but try stepping away from it from a few hours. Take a drive, go to the shops, walk around the park - take in everything around you from the trees, to the shapes of buildings and cars and you'll soon see that ideas will start popping into your head. It may seem like far-out-thinking, but give it a try. Many times it has helped me out (and hopefully others so i'm not completely mental!) That said, however, if you're just looking to copy some trends, then Design Fridge is pretty good.
  7. Sorry chaps, only just seen the responses to this! Dez, thank you very much for the link - I completely agree with you about the kerning, thats something that, if I do decide to use the font, i'll be looking to improve. Cheers!

  9. Or they just didn't like the site lol
  10. Link worked fine for me mate, so thats a bit odd.
  11. Morning all, While i'm waiting for the 3pm kick offs in the footie, thought i'd throw this one out there for critique. I must stress that it's not yet 100% complete - the comments still need styling, the header isn't finished yet and a few other bits 'n bobs. Oh, and the newsletter form isn't coded yet so don't go signing up! But what do you think of it? Do you have any suggestions for improvements? It seems a little flat at the moment, needing something to make it pop. Over to you guys: Knock yourselves out.
  12. I mostly use the big three - Facebook, Twitter and Dribbble. With my current side-project, I'm only using Facebook and YouTube. That said though, i've never really got on with Twitter. It's more of a second thought service for me and is usuaaly filled up with links to blog posts.
  13. You and me both, Oak! I'm almost certain i've seen it before somewhere, but i'm damned if I can remember where!
  14. Can anyone help me out with identifing which font is used on this site? The headline of "We craft and publish social games" .. none of the font recognition sites are able to pick it up.
  15.    MarkJenner reacted to a post in a topic: Anyone know how I could achieve this?
  16. Ignore my answer. Mike's is much better!
  17. Modifing this should do the trick. Use the basic principles, but rather than navigation, use buttons
