  1. Fellas! Your seeing the art of Webdesign through tunnel vision, art is always around us. Every aspect of a design is art, yes you stick to guide lines, sticking to guide lines is boring. Just check out WBF's wonderful art at the top of your screen. Be free like a butterfly.. Babe another beer please.
  2. 90% of people don't visit a website and decide to look at the coding put into the overall design. They don't think twice on how much effort and time was put into this wonderful art masterpiece (Remember we are artists). Most clients have a vision and to be honest half of them have no idea as long as it works, it's a shame. Yet as said above the internet will expand long after we are gone, to stay on top you have to stay ahead no matter how many slice and table paste designers are lingering. They won't linger for long they get bored!
  3. I see nothing wrong with it.
  4. Yeah it's hard to steer away from the custom 'green' that is Xbox, are you going for user generated content? Ahhh you have me all excited i think my head is going to blow!
  5. Think that's bad! I fly to Afghanistan at the weekend, my current job doesn't allow me to design as much as i would love to, 6 months with ideas in my head.
  6. Welcome to the internet! I have friends online who i also work with, yes it's harder and the only way of communication is they'ol keyboard. I think you feel abit lonely, you have ideas but you just get board working on your own.
  7. About 6 years ago this happened to me i would start an idea which for the first day i would spend hours working on sketching up ideas then i would stop, frustration and boredom took over it felt i was doing the same thing over and over. But then! I started to work with other designers on projects and just random ideas, sharing a vision with another designer keeps you motivated. It's a dark hole everyone falls into i have good friends who animate for a living and they call it the animation blues, abit of Web-building blues my friend.
  8. Mark Jenner i really like the look and feel of your design, obviously your working on something close to my heart - Xbox. It's got a very cold feel, maybe that's due to the repeat of the sample Skyrim images, keep us updated and i look forward to the finished product.
  9. I would never dream of putting anyone off building a website for themselves for the first time but it sounds like you shouldn't go it alone. Take all the advice from the posts above, remember this will be your business and it should look professional and be secure, something i don't think you will be able to achieve on your own. But if you wish to take that choice good luck.

Damn i just sent my details off....
  11. Like all of the above it's a little dark and grungy, blue on black hurts the wee old eye. I always feel for a business you need a smart clean logo. I advise a re-design.
  12. Nice and clean i can see what you mean on the open spaces. - The first thing i see is a whopping open space at the top of the page, chuck some information in their let people know first off what you are about. - The navigation is abit bland the first thing i notice is the nice clean logo but as soon as i looked i had an image in my head of the tree having routes leading down to the left hand links. Very nice though, simple is nice.

But it's cheaper, congrats on Passing
  14. I have been designing for over 9 years when it comes to the back bone of a website i have little idea, stick to what your good at. If anything try find a guy to team up with that way you can teach each other. And to the comments on design aids, i agree it brings more people to the design world but the internet is ever expanding and that means plenty for everyone.

  16. I feel the purple navigation icons are hard on the eye, it seems simple and funky, white space isn't bad space it's possible future usable space.
