My new website
Hi. I took a look at your website. I like the basic look of the site. It has a nice simple professional look to it. Lets the client know who you are without throwing to much at them. I did have a concern I wanted to mention. With a simple design, you want to really push your portfolio so that potential clients can see what you can do, and I couldn't seem to find a good way to look at your work. This could just be that you are still working on the site, and the portfolio is still coming, but I wanted to bring it up.

My site, Please help review
Hello. I like your site, it is very clean and professional looking. I will say that some of the navigation feels off when I am moving around the site. When you click on the services and go to the separate pages, going back to the main menu does not feel right. I don't mind going to the welcome page when I first come to your site, but then to keep having to go back there, seems off. I think it would be better to go back to the services instead. Just a thought I wanted to pass on. Take care.

Please will you take a look at my new about me page?
I really enjoy your site. It is very clean and simple, and yet really gets across your fun take on life. There are so many fun elements that make you want to keep looking around and see what else you can find. Great job!

Portfolio Feedback appreciated.
I think your site looks great. Very straightforward and will appeal to anyone stopping by to take a look, but it also let's your personality shine through. Love the avatar and the fact he spins. My only critique (and I think it has already been touched on) is the lettering should probably get smaller when the screen gets smaller. Some of it is rather overwhelming on a phone. Great job.

Portfolio to review
I took a look at your site using an iPhone. I think you accomplished your goal of keeping it clean and simple. The site looks very good on the phone. The colors also work very well on a smaller screen and gives it a more modern feel. I did notice a couple of paragraphs that were indented. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Speaking of the words, I would have to say the one concern I would have is that there is a lot of reading. I think it would serve you better to try to simplify the sections and give one or two highlights to show who you and your company is rather than going into lengthy detail. An average client will probably not stop to read the entire thing. But of course that is just my thoughts on it.

Creative Advice Needed on Layout of Website
I understand the difficulties with getting all the different features built. Good luck with your Kickstarter campaign. With the categories, I think I would base them off industries. That way if I was looking to create a logo for a new restaurant, I could go to your site, and go straight to the Food Industry (or whatever you decide to call it) and find lots of great inspiration. If you would like to take a peak at a site my company developed (the one in my tag line), we have a search feature that allows individuals to search by a few different options. One of them is by industry. Maybe it could give you an idea of types of industries to add. By no means am I an expert on any of this, but I am always happy to try to help if I can. Good Luck.

My new portfolio. Any suggestions?
Your site looks great. I love your business logo and the black and white graphics, they work really well together. The site is very professional and has a very finished feel to it. I would say the only critique I have is the "contact us" page. Compared to all the other pages it seems very stark.

Creative Advice Needed on Layout of Website
Hello, I like the look of your site. I think that I understand the point. To show off logo design and to get inspiration when you visit the site. But I do have a couple of questions. Does the person who created the logo get credit for it? If I wanted to post my designs on the site, would I be able to benefit from it, i.e. exposure and possible future clients. I can see designers wanting to show off there work, but i also think they would like to get credit. Also not sure how to search by categories. Feels like there should be a list of categories and/or tags. I really like the concept and look of the site. I get that you are going for a very basic site, but it almost feels to simple and I am searching for somewhere to give me a little bit of explanation about the site. I hope that helps.

I've set up my website, what is the quickest way to get my first customer?
Your question was more about how to attract clients vs. critiques. I think all of the above have given you great insight on ways to improve your site and hopefully you can use these posts to help develop your site further. For finding your first clients, it will all be about networking. It looks like you are concentrating on your local market more so than global, so I would recommend getting out there and meeting the local companies. There are lots of small business meet ups going on. I would say try to find some, get out and start meeting people. From there if you can get a couple of projects going, hopefully you can start to get a little word of mouth happening. In today's market you will need to go out and get your name known. You can also send out mailers and business cards, but I think many people are looking for that personal touch - through meetups or online with social media. Good Luck!

New Site for my Freelance work
The site is looking very good. It is clean and simple, but with a dash of style to give it character. The two concerns I have would be the blank area around your company name seems to be a bit too much, especially with the name being off to the side, feels weird to me. The second is the bottom with the mac and work gallery, it seems all crammed in atogeterh - but we know you are working on that, so I am sure that will correct itself.

web design by a 10 year old
Awesome site! Perfect for a 10 year old magician. I can see where it would be a lot of fun to just build a site based off the ideas of a 10 year old You did a great job and I look forward to hearing more about this up and coming magician. I was hoping to see a video on the site of him in action.

Web Design portfolio almost complete can I have some feedback?
Your site looks great. I think I already said it, but I really like your company logo. Your site has a whimsical feel while still maintaining a professional look. A real success there if you ask me. It is very easy to go too far either direction, and I think you have succeeded in capturing both. If I were to offer one critique, I would say to reread the first paragraph on your blog page. It does not read correctly to me. A couple of sentences seem to have run together. I am sure you are still fixing up spots so this may be something you are still going to be updating, but, hey, figured I should mention it. Great job.

How to attract guest writers or perm contributors to blog
This is definitely not an area I have explored personally, though with my continued push to learn more about marketing, I can see where the value lies. My thought is you would need to make guest posting on your site beneficial to them. What do they get out of it? Can you offer to guest write for them? If you are looking, there are probably others searching as well. Is your audience people they would like to attract? As much as I would love to say that the writers would do it for the fun of it, most likely they are going to be looking for ways to better build their own brand.

My portfolio
What an excellent website. It is very obvious that you are a talented artist. The site has a very finished feel to it. I don't really have any critiques to give. The only thing that popped out at me is the size of your email address at the bottom of the page. It may be a little large. Of course it is very stylized and may very well work for your personality. Great job and good luck finding that internship.

Web Designer, Developer, Hybrid?
Hello, and welcome to the forum. I really don't know much about the technical differences in what to call yourself, but I do think it sounds like you are more leaning toward being a designer with some skills in development. I would guess almost everybody has a mixture of both sides, just a greater skill one side or the other. I do not think it matters what software you use or don't use - it comes down to how good your portfolio looks. If a client likes what they see, they are going to be interested in hiring you.

Hi, I really like the look of your site. It is very professional looking. I also like that you chose to go with red. It is not something that you see as often and I think it really helps make the site standout. I think it is great and looks ready to go, if I were to give one critique (and I stress I have been debating with myself on this), the font you use for your company logo, doesn't seem to fit the name brighter, it feels "old world" or something, and when I think brighter, I think fun and hip. Just a thought. Not sure if it is something to even think about, but I always like to give everyone that first impression feel when I look at their page.

Home Town Logo uni project
I really like the second one. The added "sea" to the bottom of the graphic really sells the tag line. I am torn on the rope, I think visually it looks really cool. but when I first looked at it, I thought it was some type of crown.

Is there such thing as the best?
I have never posted about my own company, but I would love for you to stop on by optioncart.com. OptionCart is a PHP ecommerce catalog system. If you have any questions please send me a message and I will be happy to answer them for you.

Google+ on the rise
This is good to know (including everyone's responses). I have been really trying to figure out the best ways to build a presense in social media. I keep hearing that we need to start using Google + more, and I have been resistant. So now I think it is time to give it a really serious look.

Thanks for the link. I am intrigued. I think I will run pixelbunch.com through the site and see what it is like. Looking forward to seeing the results

Shanghai Tower Climb...
Just absolutely insane. I find these videos fascinating, but yet I have such a hard time watching them. It is amazing to me, you have to figure everywhere these guys are walking, there are construction workers who do it everyday for a job. I realize they have safety measures in place, but come on, I don't think there is any amount of money that could get me to go up that high.

Please can I have some feedback on my logo design?
I really like your logo. The "o" really makes the design. My only question is if you have built a website around the logo yet? Stand alone it looks great, but I wasn't sure if the colors you are using would lend themselves to a whole site. The hard part is it's impossible to know without looking at the site, but just something I was thinking about while I was looking at the logo.

Quick Review
I think your site looks great. Your services sound awesome and I could see where many companies could use help navigating social media. The only thing I found that I wasn't a fan of is the color of the "get started" box when you mouse over it. I like the pink color of your site, but the button turning grey seems off to me. I am not sure why it stood out to me, but it did, and I figured I would mention it. I can't come up with a better color to make it - so it may be something that shouldn't be changed, but hey first impressions are always good to know.

Need your suggestions
It is a fascinating site that I keep surfing around to get a feel for it. Like the earlier poster said, it feels like it would work very well on a tablet, but trying to surf it on the computer is very confusing. Some of this may change as you work on the site, and the site will really make you stand out, becuase I haven't been on a site quite like it before.

Critique My Design
It looks really good. Very clean and professional. I keep looking at it, because I always like to give some type of feedback, but I really can't find something to say could be improved. It looks great so far.
