February 17, 201412 yr A lot of potential there I like the second one and the colours (not sure what you have set in AI). Not sure of the 'rope' like image. Is it a nautical reference? I don't get it, but that's not to say don't use it. Not a fan of the fonts to be honest. But I'm a font whore. I think a slab serif might look good for the main and a serif for the slogan, but that's my preference more than anything. I like the spacing and positioning though. Perhaps if I knew a little about your hometown, I'd have a better insight. Still, as a logo it's looking good. Have you tried it in b&W?
February 17, 201412 yr Author should have explained, the building represents a fort that was built around here by Edward III, the rope is in reference to its long history of being a sea town, the idea of the rope around the building is to convey security within the town, demonstrating that its a safe town to live as years ago this town was virtually lawless so in a way it demonstrates growth and futurism. I will check some slab serif fonts, any you have in mind?.. I want to give the impression of history and stability. thanks again ps, the actual colour is a kind of dusty dark blue., Edited February 17, 201412 yr by Fuzzy Logic
February 17, 201412 yr I really like the second one. The added "sea" to the bottom of the graphic really sells the tag line. I am torn on the rope, I think visually it looks really cool. but when I first looked at it, I thought it was some type of crown.
February 17, 201412 yr Author thanks brandable web, in all honesty I would not worry about it being mistaken for a crown as there is still significant relevance even with a crown lol..
February 19, 201412 yr I definitely prefer the second option. I like the font you have chosen for QUEENBOROUGH, however I don't think the sans serif font you have used for the catchline suits. Perhaps a light 'italic' version of the main font?? I'm not so keen on the rope either, it looks more a ring to me but I understand your reasoning for putting it there as there definitely needs to be something in that spot for balance. I also don't like it 'hugging' the building either - Perhaps a ring of stars or little anchors in the same perspective but further out from the building? dunno. Anyway, overall I actually DO like your logo, it looks nice and fresh - but something about the rope doesn't seem quite right. Cheers, Steve.
February 24, 201412 yr I would recommend you to use the secound logo which is in blue color. This looks very creative and stunning. The rope gives it a very elegant look. The coloring is also very eye catching.
February 25, 201412 yr Author Sorry for any late replies but thanks for replying, stix I agree, I need to try to make it more like rope but I would not see the relevance to adding stars etc a logo has to have meaning and I don't see where that could fit with the town , improving the rope might be easier said than done though lol Edited February 25, 201412 yr by Fuzzy Logic
