How to attract guest writers or perm contributors to blog

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I really want to attract some guest/resident writers for various websites I run. How can I appeal to them?

I thought about offering them some way to have them google verified, so whilst they are providing content for my sites, they are gaining author trust in the eyes of google.

Is that even do-able and what other ways can I attract writers?

Any help or advice, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

One way of doing google authorship is to create an email address (this could be one they can access or not, it's up to you) then they just add the email address to their contact details on google plus. Read more here: https://plus.google.com/authorship

There is of course a difference between attracting people who want to post on your blog and actual writers, it's not easy but if you reach out to competitors sites and ask if they know any good writers, some of them might be kind enough to tell you. Probably more often than not they won't though.

Good luck! :)

In the same boat at the moment, more or less - looking for blog authors on my site. Got 2 peeps ready to start now, and that was just from a general post in a group on Linkedin.

This is definitely not an area I have explored personally, though with my continued push to learn more about marketing, I can see where the value lies. My thought is you would need to make guest posting on your site beneficial to them. What do they get out of it? Can you offer to guest write for them? If you are looking, there are probably others searching as well. Is your audience people they would like to attract? As much as I would love to say that the writers would do it for the fun of it, most likely they are going to be looking for ways to better build their own brand.
