Hello, before I post my link I'd to say that although I am only 16, I can handle constructive feedback (stereotypes may suggest you think otherwise) and also, I've been on a few forums for the past 1-2 years but the majority of them have been a community of younger adults - teens and I'm aware this forum isn't like so your feedback may be a little more tougher.

 

Anyway, I'm really looking for some advice on how to improve UX and how I could maybe impress potential clients or jobs that I may apply for, if that makes sense? I understand there are some incredible designs on here, which is why I would really appreciate some advice.

Things I'd like to point out:

• Although the website IS responsive, I'm still working on making the blog become that way;
• Any changes suggested will take a while to do as I'm revising for final exams now so that always takes priority;
• The whole idea is to be a minimal but effective site that can showcase my work.

It's very nice, I like it a lot. The user experience is good too, not loaded with gimmicks for the sake of showing off like many I could mention.

 

On your blog's only one of your post's has a tag showing, you may want to do something about that. Adding a search to your blog page would be a good idea too.

 

All in all it is a very mature effort, you have promise!

i would conisder making the main body text a touch darker - it's lacking in contrast

 

dobn't forget your favicon

 

some of your portfolio images (thumbs) need optismising

 

using the responsive resizer thing in firefox (what's it called again?! ctrl+shift+m the "I'm a front-end developer" gets a bit large and right up against the nav and the social icons take some time to settle down - falling awkwardly into 2 columns on different levels

 

 

did you try anchor text with colour? might work better

I agree with it, I'e posted it all in a notepad doc so once I finish my exams I know exactly what I need to improve on. Can't believe I forgot about the favicon, how could I?!

I think your site looks great. Very straightforward and will appeal to anyone stopping by to take a look, but it also let's your personality shine through. Love the avatar and the fact he spins. My only critique (and I think it has already been touched on) is the lettering should probably get smaller when the screen gets smaller. Some of it is rather overwhelming on a phone. Great job.

I took a look just now on my smartphone and I see what you mean, I was planning to increase the padding above the title (between the navigation and the main title) but as you said it looks like a little overwhelming I may just decrease the size on smaller resolutions. Thanks for this.
