Hi I am trying to setup a local copy of a system on my local machine using wamp - I have my code in a folder in www but when try to access it through my browser I am getting the Redirect Loop with the following error: I have tried editing the httpd.conf and checked the .htaccess but I think this is being caused by something else. I've just designed an html mailshot to be embedded into a bulk email. I need a link at the top which displays the email in a web browser incase security settings in the mail app prevent images being displayed etc. I have been given the ftp details for the customers website so i can upload the html file but it says file not found when i type the domain/mailshot.html. It is in the root directory and i've also tried it in the folder the website is held in, called htdocs. The website is all done in php, which i'm not familiar with. Hello Guys Not sure how to describe my predicament, but I'll try my best. I have uploaded to my server a video with a .wmv extension. It's a link to a downloadable video which was placed on another forum for folks to see. However, it has run it's course and I have deleted it. Clicking on the link in the forum now rightly produces a 4o4 'The page cannot be found'. My question is, how can I change what that link now shows (not another video). Hi all, I'm currently having a major problem with a web site I designed a few weeks ago. The site has been live for a number of weeks and was fine up until a couple of days ago. When you type into google " the red door fahan " The listing comes up but with a warning - "This site may harm your computer." As you can imagine the client is not happy about this and I've never seen this before. Has anyone come across this before? I've went into google and its stating "This site may be distributing malware" How could have this happened? Thanks In advance.

ok im taking a guess at this is a server problem a client has a site and it was working fine, they uploaded a new page and gets a blank page http://www.scotlandscountrysidefestival.co.uk/index.html i have looked through the site, the file is in the public_html page and there is no htaccess set up the e-mail went down for the server 2 days ago, i think it must have done something else to it i have tested it by adding another html page and still get the same anyone have any ideas ? if you go to index.php it works fine (joomla installation) could it be joomla blocking it ? Hi! It was a time when I though creating a video sharing site like Youtube is an easy matter. But some days ago I finally realize that is nearly imposible because I heard I need VPS or greater server hosting. Although I can't understand why such requirements when I think I will have barely a few thousands vids uploaded by users. Also the hosting offers do not say how much bandwith lenght they support only unlimited transfer(for some) which reffers to the total amount of data that can be tranfered between servers and users. Hello, I'm using cPanel 11 with my current hosting account. I want to get rid of everything on there (it was registered to an old domain that i don't use which is messing things up a little bit) I just want it clear, so I can just upload new content that I need to go on. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset cPanel so it just has what I need on there? I'm worried if go around deleting folders i might mess it up. Thanks, Thomas x

Hi All I have a client that has a website that has a facility to download self extracting .exe files. Currently this is done by clicking a link to the .exe file and selecting save from the dialogue box that appears. The problem she is having is on a number of occasions the exe files does not download fully leaving the end customer with in incomplete download. Hi, I may begin working on a website shortly, but the owner has already purchased the domain name from 123-reg.co.uk. Once the site is ready and tested, how do I upload it if the address is in their ownership? Do they just need to give me the HOST, USERNAME and PASSWORD? Hello there new user here and really hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Basically I've had a new static website designed by a web-design company and I want to start editing the pages but there isn't content management enabled on the site so they said I have to FTP instead. I'm no savy with html and I basically just want to edit the current pages on the website and wondering what is the procedure for doing this without html knowledge ? Do i need to download FTP client software AND webpage design software and how do I go about editting my pages ? Hi. Really hope someone can help here, as I've all but given up on my web host tech support. I have web space which is host to several sites - my music band, my brothers company and a friends sandwich shop. The domain names were purchased seperately via 123-reg.co.uk but point to different "areas" of my website which is hosted by Easyspace. I can get web stats from Easyspace but they only cater for my website - how on earth will I know how many visitors have accessed the sandwich shop for example? Hope this makes sense... I'm running xampp on my home pc windows xp pro I want to be able to install plesk if possible as this is what my friends server use and I need to learn to use it for a project we are both working on. I tested my site on the website grader and it said I could do with a 310 redirect. So I add this line to my .htaccess file (leaving a space between the 404 code so this is the whole code in my .htaccess file is - ErrorDocument 404 /404.php Redirect 301 mysite.com http://www.mysite.com Adding my web address where it says 'mysite'. I re-tested it on the grader but it says I still don't have one. What am I not doing?? Thanks

Hi, On my website I ahve put a link to download my current CV. My Website In FF3 it works as expected, a save / open dialog box appears when you click the link. In IE8 it just opens the file. But in Chrome it just spits our alot of gobbledy-gook! Can someone shed some light on this for me please?!?! Thanks

and old hosting package supported the mod rewrite rule: RewriteRule cds/$ /?cat_id=1&level=1&type=$1 but a new vps package does not; anyone know what apache module i'll need to install? -------------------------------- additional notes; i get a 404 error not a 500/505 meaning mod_rewrite module is installed but does not render the page.

I downloaded and installed EasyPHP about 2 weeks ago. About a week ago, the apache stopped responding (site wouldn't load) so on easy php I stopped and started the "Apache" bit, and it worked again. I have came back to it today, and when I load site itjust says trying to connect again. However, When I try to restart apache, it does nothing. If i click stop, it stops, but then any attempt to restart apache results in it saying "Pending" for a split second, then returning to stopped. Can anyone please offer advice of explain why this is happening? Thanks.

First of all, Im not even sure what Unix is... I have used google and it's unbeliebavle how all of these sites ramble on without getting to the point. My understanding is that it is an operating system. If my lecturer is telling me that I have to change the file permissions on my website, can i do this with Unix?? I thought this could be done easily through FTP, where you right click the file and set permissions from there? Whats the difference doing them this way to doing it under Unix?

Hey all, at work I do quite a bit of classic asp development, however I work on MAC OSX, so when ive written a new script I either have to upload and test the script on the server or I have to connect to the windows laptop next to me via network, copy the files across and test on this machine using a local host on this machine. A lot of faffing around if you ask me.... if my main machine was windows based this wouldnt be a problem, but with working on a mac primarilly this is becoming a bit of a minor headache. Hey I've got 2 domains domain1.com and domain2.com, both of them are hosted on different servers (One of web hosting and the other for file hosting) Currently all the files are all hosted at: domain2.com/set1/fpb/files/ but i'd like to access that fill path by going to set1.domain1.com/ But not a redirection, so it would be like set1.domain1.com/filename.zip I've seen it done on other sites, but cant find anywhere saying it. Hi All, Got a strange problem - when server was on PHP4 I had no problems but since upgrading to PHP5 ths following problem is occuring: When I upload an image, if it is small image it uploads fine and dandy without a problem.... however: If I take an image that is say 1.6 meg, I click upload.... it takes 25 seconds then says: The website cannot display the page HTTP 500 Most likely causes: The website is under maintenance.
