April 12, 200917 yr Evening All, I want to create a wordpress theme, how do I install PHP & MySQL on vista so I can make edits locally? Also do you know of any good tutorials on building a theme...
April 12, 200917 yr XAMPP <-- for MySQL and PHP Creating WP themes <-- Does exactly what it says on the tin. (or in the link text anyway)
April 12, 200917 yr I use XAMPP. It installs a web server locally on your computer. And for future reference, after you install XAMPP, the folder where your site goes is HTDOCS. It took me a while to figure that out. And your database username by default is "root", and the password is left blank.
April 12, 200917 yr Yip, Xampp is pretty nifty, personally I get on better with WAMP - but it's down to personal preference.
