May 20, 200917 yr I downloaded and installed EasyPHP about 2 weeks ago. About a week ago, the apache stopped responding (site wouldn't load) so on easy php I stopped and started the "Apache" bit, and it worked again. I have came back to it today, and when I load site itjust says trying to connect again. However, When I try to restart apache, it does nothing. If i click stop, it stops, but then any attempt to restart apache results in it saying "Pending" for a split second, then returning to stopped. Can anyone please offer advice of explain why this is happening? Thanks.
May 20, 200917 yr Author P.S. I have tried restarting the computer and this made no difference... when the computer loads, it says apache has started - but does not respond when I try to open a website.
May 20, 200917 yr Could be your Firewall settings. Check your firewall and make sure that apache is allowed
May 20, 200917 yr I had this issue with xampp, i can't remember the exact fix, but my problem was to do with the port numbers being used for something else (think it was my antivirus (avg free) fighting for them?).
May 20, 200917 yr Author After a long and fustrating day I found the source of the problem.. It would appear the computers IP address had changed, therefore when it tried to listen on the old IP address, it couldn't and cancelled the start up. Problem fixed now as I have given the computer a static IP address. Thanks for the help guys, I can continue building this site now.
