Looking for hosting reseller account
Yep, they are fairly shocking at the moment. We're in the processes of moving websites away from them now. I think they should rebrand to YoYo Internet, it seems much more fitting.

Looking for hosting reseller account
That was the final nail in the coffin for me, although their day to day uptime performance can be poor. A similar amount of downtime has happened before with them also (see https://www.heartinternet.uk/blog/we-messed-up-heres-what-happened-and-what-we-learned/ ). They apparently leaned nothing

Looking for hosting reseller account
We're also now looking for a new reseller hosting provider. We are with Heart Internet and have been for years, but their service levels recently have been shocking. At the moment, we have had ongoing downtime with the large majority of our sites down entirely, or sporadically working for around 24 hrs now. 2.30pm yesterday it all went down (web hosting, email, DNS the lot) apparently because of a power issue. They are still struggling to get everything up and running almost 24 hrs later. One of our sites just came up there... our monitoring software reported "The site came back up at 02/11/2016 11:33, and it was down for 21 hours." 21 hours!!! We currently have around 50 website with Heart, and around 100 domains. We host solely on Linux. I tried out TSOhost last year, and really didn't like their control panel. There was a host on here that offered a WHMCS licence in with their reseller fee which looked interesting, but I am struggling to find their name now. Are there any other suggestions? Thanks in advanced!

Google to reward HTTPS sites with higher search rankings - thoughts?
Is there somewhere on the forum this could go to make it more prominent? There must be a lot of people on here who might have an opinion on this, and who may be affected by this at some point. Would love to hear more opinions. It could have a fair impact on how simple websites have to be built.

Google to reward HTTPS sites with higher search rankings - thoughts?
I'm glad to hear it isn't just me that thinks this is crazy!! As Google say themselves, it isn't a huge deal at present but they suggest it could be. "For now it's only a very lightweight signal — affecting fewer than 1% of global queries, and carrying less weight than other signals such as high-quality content" Something just doesn't feel right about building a simple brochure website to load entirely on https.

Google to reward HTTPS sites with higher search rankings - thoughts?
Hi all, First time poster, but have been lurking for a while! Had someone ask me today what it would cost to switch a site we have built (which is a simple content only small business brochure WordPress site, no eCommerce or even customer login area etc.) from being all http to all https with valid ssl certificate. Reason they were asking is being 'it now influence Google Rankings' as per the article below. http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/2359219/google-to-reward-https-sites-with-higher-search-rankings I would of course consider https if we were handling customers data (eCommerce or otherwise), but on a simple brochure type website surely this isn't worth it, given the costs involved initially/annually and the negative impact on load times. Is it just me that thinks this sounds a bit crazy? Thanks, s
