I'm not sure is everyone is up-to-date about site performance testing tools. Even not me.

I use Pingdom full page test for testing my sites and pages for load speed any analysis.

Just run a test and than click "Performance grade" for a detailed report. It's free and unlimited.

Well the website and rating works great!

 

But there is always a but. I get less points because I don't have a blog and I don't have a twitter account with the same name -.-

I'm not looking for that kind of information. What more important is, is the speed of the website and how easy it is to visit the website!

 

But that is just my opinion!

I have just noticed that woorank added 80 (!) nofollow links to my site after testing. Somewhat unexpected behavior...

Nevertheless I don't think it harms, so thanks. Maybe this is a marketing feature of woorank?

Pingdom website speed tool is the best tool among all the tool I have used available on the internet which are free also , try it improve your site.Your site speed also play a vital role for ranking of your site.

Also there is one more great tool http://www.gtmetrix.com it's similar with pingdoom but is better in some cases.

I use google insights, since they are the nr 1 search engine, their tests seem more legit to me.

I use the Google Page Speed Insights too.

I seem to get anywhere from 91 right through to 100, depending on the circumstances.

 

My main website is slightly penalised because I have a 3rd party live chat on it but it still scores in the mid to high 90's for both mobile and desktop - www.the-coding-guys.co.uk

 

I was happier with this one though - www.leedsguitar.co.uk - just tested now at 98 mobile and 99 desktop. I've actually had it 100 for both at times.

 

Do you think it makes any difference in terms of SEO? The way I see it is that if the site loads really quick people are more likely to browse it. With more people using mobile and tablet devices aswell, it makes sense to optimise this way.

 

Another tool I've been introduced to is sitebeam. You get 10 free reports then it's £40 a month. It's way more than just a speed/performance test though.

Yeah, its a difficult problem to solve. Just remember that Woorank bases these results on quantity of backlinks, whereas it is far more important to get quality backlinks. So if you already have these then Woorank will not be able to recognise the difference and mis scoring your site.

Well it only referanced 200 odd and I have 600 odd. A lot of it didnt seem over relivant to me. Only thing that I really took from it is home page content. Been meaning to sort that for a while.

Google Speed Test, GTMetrix, Nibbler (SiteBeam), and Pingdom. I am curious, what score (respectively) is good enough and what score would require more attention to improve?

For testing speed under load, have a look at Blitz (https://www.blitz.io/).

 

It's VERY useful and provides all kinds of configuration options and metrics for analysis.

 

Just be careful using it, as with the wrong settings you'll essentially DoS attack your own system .

great I got good score for my official website.

Pingdom went well for me on my latest businesses site, all bar the service area page which has a large Google map inset into it scored 88+ which is fine by me considering I'm an amateur that tweaked a provided template that has loads of js built in that I have had nothing to do with

 

Question is the service area page, for my business to operate efficiently it needs to restrict it's service area to a local market. This is part of the marketing for the business 'The local professional service' etc etc. The service area page get's a lot of hit's, and according to Google analytic's the behaviour flow often goes from that page to the contacts page. There are a number of drop offs on the service area page though and i am thinking that as it scores less than 80 on pingdom is there a way I can speed up the Google map loading?

 

As this is a thread about the tools then a quick link to resources etc would be appreciated. I don't want to hijack what is a good thread.
