Build a Facebook page to improve a new webpage SEO

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m not sure if this is the proper place to ask this question or not in the webdesigner forum - if not I ask the admin put it on the right category.

We just finished a new website that promotes our escort services. It is not yet launched, it cannot be found on any search, that is currently we have a big zero in terms of SEO.

The guy we have worked with on the website suggested us to open a Facebook page account for our company, in order to improve our SEO ranking fast Also Twitter & Youtube accounts.

My questions are:

-are these social media accounts really improve our SEO ranking in a short time?

-is there any risk in buying facebook fans (http://www.bulkfans.com/, http://socialbuzzer.net, http://www.buyfacebook-fanslikes.com, etc). They pretend they have real fans – but how could somebody control thousands of real Facebook users?

-is ther any other way to boost your fan number in a very short time?

Thanks!

Anybody offering to get you real likes is lying. Its impossible for the price they charge. In my experience they are bots.

In terms of seo, getting social profiles is pretty big. For example linkedin is highly ranked in google (say you search for a person, linkedin is one of the top results everytime) however its not really seo, its more smm (social media marketing) which can generate traffic, but dont expect any traffic from fake likes.

The best way to get people to like or follow your company is to engage them (social = 2 way engagement). Dont just spam "check out oru site blah blah blah", but engage them. Ask questions, post pictures, run offers and competitions. It takes time, there is no quick way, but if you want to do it properly I advise to stay away from fake likes etc.

Good luck

Does social media improve SEO rankings in short time? Not really!. Social media can only offer you branding, and referral traffic. If people start recognizing your service/product, they may feel like visiting back to your website. But if its otherwise, it doesn't really contribute in SEO. And for buying likes, its of no use. You don't even get decent referral traffic from such tactics, so avoid such bogus offers!

-are these social media accounts really improve our SEO ranking in a short time? - Not in the short term. Like anything, it takes time to get good fans and traffic and SEO benefits as well.

-is there any risk in buying facebook fans (http://www.bulkfans.com/, http://socialbuzzer.net, http://www.buyfacebook-fanslikes.com, etc). They pretend they have real fans – but how could somebody control thousands of real Facebook users?

I'd stay away. You want real people who you can do business with later. No point having 600 fans if none of them are going to turn into business.

In a very short time? Hmm....being active in other pages and groups and buying facebook ads. But, don't go out and buy FB ads if you have too few members. Ask your friends/colleagues to do you a favor and like you before you spend money on ads. People generally "like" things other people have liked as well. It's the social part of facebook.

Buying Facebook fans. I mean really? Sit and think for one second - what is the point, as they won't lead to any actual business. We use Facebook a lot at work and it does lead to business. However, all the Likes/Fans we have are real people, who are interested in what we offer. On the other hand, if we'd bought 1000 fans, 90% of which will be fake and inactive accounts we'd get nothing.

I've personally never seen an real evidence of Faceboom improving organic SEO rankings at all. I know if I mention a new blog post, Google will index it a little quicker, but as for actual rankings, not really.

It really does sound cliche, as all the spammers from India we get on this forum copy and paste this, but for Facebook et al to work, you do need to work at it and take the time to engage with potential customers.

Ignore what your website person says, sounds like he's had a 5 minute Google and come up with some bs answer on a subject he knows little about.

I was running 3 different adverts on FB for months with about 11 likes on my FB page. I was getting usually 0 clicks and wasnt paying a penny for the advertising.

Then I paid for 500 likes and now I get loads of new likes each month and even more FB page views.

The truth is, if you are running an advert, people are more tempted to click on it when they see 500 likes than if they see 11. Just the same as you are more tempted to buy something with reviews.

The likes i received were mostly eastern european, but honesly i don't care because i cant see many people hunting through my 'likers' list that often and for the cost of the likes (£5) it has proven beneficial.

On the rankings side, i have no idea but im just saying they have there uses.

rallport nobody buys facebook likes for any other reason than to appear bigger/more trusted than they actually are.

* facepalm *

.. and how many of these new likes or clicks have actuall converted for you?

Yes, a number on your facebook profile is now a few digits bigger, wow? If those clicks or likes haven't resulted in any extra interest on your product or physical sales, then it's pointless.

You're kidding yourself and your customers.

Say whatever you want, you need to work bloody hard with Facebook et all to get anything out of it. Buying 500 likes from Eastern China isn;t going to help you one bit.

* facepalm *

He just told you what the point was. He now gets organic likes that could possibly convert.

While I've never bought likes, it does make sense that people are more likely to click like if they think they are part of a larger social group.

The point has been made earlier : don't buy FB likes. A social media campaign will be worth it, but manage the campaign yourself. Getting fans is a time consuming thing...

Firstly I explained to you the reason behind it and how It tempted people to click the ads. Secondly, I said Eastern Europe so shows how much attention you paid to the post when you read it. Thirdly Facebook is blocked in China, any 'web guru' know's that.

The only benefit from buying facebook likes is it gives the impression to potential 'real' followers you already have a fan base and they must be following you for a reason - people like to follow what others are following, its a herd mentality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herd_mentality

That being said, it doesn't take a lot of effort to get the 'real' followers following from the word go, I personally would stay away from buying any lists because your end up with bad mixed in with the good - even if I had 20,000 real followers and 5,000 fake followers it would bother me.

So... little budget in Facebook advertising, a nicely crafted advert and a well maintained Facebook page will go a long way.

No need to buy fake followers, the learning curve to start from scratch will put you in a good position further down the line.

For SEO purpose facebook fan page can add a advantage and give a site good authorization but it cant be able to increase the overall ranking of any site.

I have a handful of escort websites which rank top page (some top 4) for local exact (UK) search results of around 2-10k monthly, i currently monetize them with affiliates, banners etc.. but list escorts for free, independent or agency, so PM me your locaton or details and if i have a site based local to you or planning one, i will list your girls with links to your site.

As far as SEO, Facebook does have its benefits (like all social networks) to SEO, the amount of fans on your page will not effect SEO for your website and buying likes (fake or real....always fake) will not do anything for SEO either, although it does help to give your page a bit of ''authority''..

Remember to keep posting links to your website in page posts, don't spam... SEO should always be a long term goal

The risk is people claim Facebook will close your page for buying fake likes, i have never encountered this, or spoke to anyone directly who has.. they obviously don't condone it and could potentially close your page....but i buy at least 100 fans for every page i start just so it looks like it has some Likes (and to change the page url if it doesn't let me before 25 likes)..

Google+ is the best bet for SEO IMO, Ahrefs reports links on a Google+ page as 'dofollow'

Google+, Twitter & Facebook should be done anyway to establish your business, it will only help SEO as long as your not spamming..

Also, if your agency has a virtual address, or you are willing to use yours or a friends (you can set it so your address is not shown).. Google places, Nokia Prime Places, Yellow Pages, Yelp & all the popular business directories are a good for SEO.. just remember to use the same phone number & business description throughout.
