October 25, 200817 yr Firefox 3 has been a bit of a disappointment for me. I find it a lot more bloated and problematic then Firefox 2. I use it more than any other browser so there has to be a reason for that... Opera and Konqueror are sweet browsers. I'm probably going to try using Opera more. Won't even bother with Chrome until they release a stable Linux version.

October 27, 200817 yr Firefox 3 has been a bit of a disappointment for me. I find it a lot more bloated and problematic then Firefox 2. Same feeling here, my firefox usage has gone from everything to nothing. My reasons are mainly because mine is really slow and i despise the book mark thing when you type in a url. I am however excitedly waiting form Chrome addons which will be happening soon hopefully .

January 30, 200917 yr I preffer FireFox because of the addons, but i would like to give Chrome a try some time. I only use IE when i have to copy-paste large tables to Word or Excel files because it keeps the formatting without ruining it.
January 30, 200917 yr When chrome's plug-in platform is released, it's gonnnnna be siiiick. FF3 was bloated, still suffering bad memory leaks, still suffering bugs that have been around since FF1 and FF2. For general browsing, go Chrome, it's so fast, slick, and streamlined. However, for development, FF, i still can't use chrome's console easily. Firebug + wdt are pretty much must haves so firefox has it's uses.... for now (:
January 30, 200917 yr Go with Opera. It has some pretty cool features for disecting a webpage to view its tables, divs and other cool "stuff". Also, if your webpage works for Opera, it will usually work for all of the others (Excluding IE who doesn't follow the rules). Firefox currently has some security issues so I'm taking a break from Mozilla. Concerning Chrome, I plan on getting that when it has a little more features. Another option is to get all of the browsers. Web designers/developers usually do this just to cover all of their bases and make sure that the webpage works on all platforms.
January 30, 200917 yr It depends what you use the web for. I am new to website designs, so I don't know enough about CSS and html and so so. As an average Internet user, I don't like add ons and have tried out FF and Safari but always return to IE7 which best serves my purposes
January 30, 200917 yr Testing websites in IE is a disaster waiting to happen. If it looks right in IE, theres a chance it could look wrong in every other browser. If it looks right in Firefox, theres a chance it could look fine in every other browser apart from IE Not to mention the annoying activex controls, and security flaws. I could go on and on, does IE load pages before displaying them? or display them as they're loading? just wondering, i can't remember. I use IE for testing, i'm gonna go check flock out shortly (:

January 31, 200917 yr You could just load all the web browsers available for your operating system on your computer! I have opera, chrome firefox, safari and internet explorer 7 loaded on my vista pc. For general surfing I use chrome, because it is faster than the others. For internet banking and html web page development testing I use firefox with a few addins (CSS viewer, firebug, firesizer, html validator and Yslow). When creating php pages I use chrome for general testing as it loads off my local server much faster than any of the others. I keep opera, safari and IE around for testing web pages once they work the way I want in Firefox. I also use IE for the odd time I want to download something from the microsoft website. All 5 work fine on the same pc without any glitches what so ever! They all offer different advantages so I am not sure one can be singled out as the best. IE can be given the distinction of being the worst though:)

The I.T guys where I work insist that IE7 is full of 'security holes' and is to be avoided at all costs, so we use the latest version of Firefox, I've found it loads quicker too, probally due to the lack of ads loaded, unlike IE7, to me it has a better feel to it also!

Every version of Internet Explorer has been full of security bugs to date. Not to mention not compatible with the latest web standards.
March 11, 200917 yr I use to always use IE, then one day i tried firefox and i have not looked back since i only use IE now when testing websites.. (because you know its not going to work properly in IE) lol
March 11, 200917 yr Without a doubt, IE is the worst browser on the face of the planet!!!!!!!!!!!! Weeeeeeell, that's not strictly true - it's the worst browser for web developers. I absolutely HATE Internet Explorer. Javascript would be feasibly pleasant to work with if it weren't for poxy IE. Having said that, there are plenty of sites I've visited that seem to only work in IE - but that's because the coder is lazy and has chosen to code IE specific. Firefox is probably the best for developers, but for users? I'd probably pick Opera or Safari 4, maybe even Chrome (though it lacks any addons which sucks big time) because they're so fast.

March 11, 200917 yr Out of the 2 options the OP gave, clearly Fx all the way (links for reasons have been given). However, if Opera could only make their tabs more attractive, and make their adblocker more intuitive, Opera would be my default.

March 20, 200917 yr I use Chrome when surfing the net its super fast! While Firefox has great addons specially the web developer tools which helps a lot when coding. Almost everyone hates IE6 but still a significant percentage of users still uses IE6 and as a designer its part of the job to make the site cross platform compatible (what a headache!).

June 11, 200917 yr Opera, of course. I downloaded Opera 10 today, and wow, it's fast. And really good-looking.
June 12, 200917 yr My Firefox 3 has been crashing a lot on Vista. FF 2 was brilliant, never had a problem with it. Now with 3 sometimes when I close it and try open it again it says it's already running and I have to close it to open it so I have to close it through my task manager, pain in the arse but it's still miles better than IE.
