  1. - I also think the website should be scrollable. It's nice but it feels a bit static without the scrolling. You could easily solve this by making the footer appear below the picture. (like kayalsmail said) I would then also do this for the other pages. - I also think the site would look much nicer if you made the white backgrounds just a little bit transparent so you can see the background picture trough it. - When the screen is smaller then around 1400 pixels (like mine), a black bar starts to appear at the bottom. The smaller the browser window becomes, the bigger the black space gets. This gives a bit of a claustrophobic effect. Overal you're onto something, nice work
  2. Oh thanks now I get it ! I didn't make that website
  3. I agree with the green color. After letting it rest for a while and now looking back at it again this is certainly true. I also agree that the images are not ideal, but these were all I had so I had to use them. The only thing I don't really understand is the part about the layer effects. I didn't use any dropshadows and strokes so I don't know what you mean by this. But anyway thank you for the time to review
  4. The website is still in it's old shape. If you want you can see it here => http://www.timetally.co/
  5. Hello I have been designing a site for someones startup, and I would like to hear some feedback. You can see it here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/20945679/Responsive-Design-for-startup I do realise that it looks like a Twitter Bootstrap kind of website, but this was on purpose. I appreciate all the feedback as long as it is constructive. Thanks
  6. It sure is a very nice website from a technical standpoint. From a more design perspective I can give you these tips: 1) Determine the hierarchy of the elements on your page. The most important things have to be big and visible, less important things have to be smaller and less striking. For example: On the index page, I think the titles of the threads should be a bit bigger and fatter, and the numbers under votes and answers should be in a more light grey color 2) There is a lot of information on your website, but try to create some whitespace between the different elements. The easier you can visually separate the different sections on the page, the more it will please the eye. But again, this website is quite an achievement!
  7. I think it looks professional. It's true that it looks a bit generic, but in the end it's a very good looking first project.
  8. they look good in my opinion. but maybe it's because it needs to look more simple. There is nothing wrong, but a winning logo has to be really simple and well thought out at the same time. I am not an expert at this so don't rely too much on my opinion.
  9. Indeed you need to have 25, which is also why you can't reply to a personal conversation someone started. It's rather annoying.
  10. That was also my first book about web design. After that I read 'Responsive Web Design' by Ethan Marcotte. Actually It's from a series called 'a book apart'. I think all of those books are interesting actually.
  11. I don't understand anything of this
  12. I get 404'd on your website, just letting you know
  13. I'm curious to hear the response to this. I don't hear a lot from people actually working for a startup company.
  14. I think the site looks very good! Everything fits nice together and is easy to find.
  15. I would also say a portfolio is the most important thing
  16. this looks very handy !
  17. I like to listen to techno/house music while working. Sometimes even those big room house tracks to keep me going
  18. I like the look of your site. It does come across as a transparent website. But to be honest, I was a bit confused what the website was about. At first sight it could be about anything tech-related. Maybe you could solve it with a simple and clear slogan in the black bar just below your logo. (For example I like reddit's slogan 'the front page of the internet'. You immediately know what you can expect). dap has a point about the website not being responsive, which means the website doesn't resize to become easily readable on smaller mobile screens. It's not a big problem, but you could think about it since the website is targeted at smartphone users. Apart from that, I think your website really works for the target audience. It displays clear information without a lot of distraction and that's what most important in my opinion.
  19. No problem. That website is starting to look good!
  20. Thanks for the feedback! It seems like you have a lot of experience. Do you have a portfolio or something that I could check out?
  21. Thank you for the time you took to review You're absolutely right about the different color impressions on different screens. I even noticed that blue especially is a very difficult color for screens. But I chose it because then I had a triad of colors. I also noticed that on very high resolution screens, the black bar where the banner fades out becomes a bit disturbing. But you made an interesting point about the banner itself not having a blue color in it. That's something to keep in mind.
  22. I like the logo of your first post. But put a little more white space between the two words, so they can breathe.
  23. Hello, Recently I made a website of an electronic music band for a school project. I'm planning to make more websites in the future, so I would like to know what you think of it. Many thanks! 24. First one looks the best, although the font of 'harp' doesn't seem right yet. The current font makes me think of some clothing chain or something. I also like the rectangular logo, but it's not readable enough. The last ones look like they make arabic music.
