hi all, I used to play Civ 2 a lot in days gone by on the PC. My copy of Official Xbox Magazine arrived this morning and has a review of Civilisation Revolution in. I didn't realise that Firaxis were making an Xbox version of this great game! This has only been released this morning, but is anybody thinking of buying this or even has anybody already got it!? The review says that it really does work on the console and that navigating around the different parts of the screen is a doddle. I think a trip to ASDA on my way home from work may be in order.....

I really hate slugs. Most things I can deal with, but if I see a slug it makes me go weak at the knees and feel sick! Yuk!

I wish I could get a bike to work.. unfortunately though, I have to drop my little monster off at school in the morning and so would be late for work if I cycled as it's about 8 miles away. The cost of it is 112 for unleaded at ASDA at the moment, which while lower than most places, is still bloody expensive. My car takes nearly £60 to fill. However, I only ever fill to three-quarters now and so get better economy because the car is that much lighter than when I fill it right up. I have also made a conscious effort to not take the revs over 3000 in a valiant effort to save fuel. The boot is empty and my tyres are inflated to the recommended pressure too. It does help. By adopting these practices, I get as much out of three quarters of a tank than when I used to fill right up.

Hi Pat, Yes I saw that via my Google search. Looks like a cracking night. Unfortunately, yes, it would be a bit of a treck!! We've decided upon the Christmas Company do. Feels weird sorting out a Christmas do in June, but places are disappearing fast.

Indeed we do! I'm leaning towards going back here. It's a good night, opportunity to get the tux out, plus they setup a casino, the profits from which go to charity.

People, I have the unenviable task of organising our works Christmas Party. I know that it's only June, but from my experiance you need to get a venue sorted early. Now, I'm a bit stuck for ideas this year and wondered if you could help me out. In the past we've been on a River Boat Cruise, to one of the Christmas Company nights and last year we simply went out for some food in a pub. I'd like to have something really exciting and original this year if possible. There could be upwards of 50 people in attendance. Thanks in advance!

Do you guys use the full-blown version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. I have used neither. I know that Photoshop is very expensive .. are you able to do all that you need to do using Photoshop Elements?

Eek! Tip #1 - Always get a contract. It covers both you and the web designer and should cover what is going to be delivered, how, when and how much you are going to be charged. To get this back on track, you have two options, as I see it. 1. Carry on with your current suppliers, BUT get them to submit a contract detailing everything that they are going to deliver. You should also demand that the finished site adheres to web standards. This will ensure that your site is accessbile to the widest audience of users possible and will help ensure that it will not "break". 2. Submit a brief to the Looking to Hire... section on this forum. There are many excellant designers on here and I'm sure that you'll be able to get your project back on track. The downside to this, of course, is that you'll have to pay again. Hope it all works out for you.

Peeps, Not sure if this is relevant or will sway the decision, but OS X Leopard has BootCamp which lets you install BOTH OS X and Windoze, you can then choose which one you want to boot into at startup. says so here. I'm saving up (bless me, I'm only 35!), for the 24" iMac at the mo! (the £1100 one, not the £1300 one).

Bry, Did they send you any form of contract to sign regarding this work? The layout and general look and feel is ok, but, as Acrylic points out, the actual coding of the site is terrible and most definitely not compliant with current standards. The home page doesn't even have a DOCTYPE!!

I'm on flexitime so clock hours up rather than get paid for OT. I'm contracted to work 37 hours a week but regularly do about 45. I never seem to get around to taking those flexidays though! If i were you, I'd do the OT. It will certainly curry favour with your employers and, I'm just guessing here, but I would of thought that you'll have some sort of review when you've been there for 12 months? That's not far away.
