  1. Not as sorry as me mate! lol!
  2. Hi mate, The first thing that jumps out at me is that you'll need two columns for team_id in your match table, one for the home team, one for the away team. You can then drop the ground_name column as this will be derived from the Team table. I've had a quick stab at a schema for you in the attached file. The two primary key columns in the Players_For_Fixture table should also be Foreign Keys to their relevant tables. Hope this helps to get you started. Good luck with it. EDIT: - Have now uploaded a screen dump, for you mate. Not holding out much hope for the Hammers tonight tbh! :-)
  3. Hi all, It's been a little while since I was last on here, but it's nice to see the forum as active as ever. I've designed the current website for the KicKStart Youth Football League based in the Mansfield area and am looking for some ideas on how I can improve it for next season. I've also designed a full CMS so that the League admins can arrange fixtures, enter results and scorers, enter news items etc already, so that's all sorted and is being used without any issues. It's the actual look and feel that I'd like to jazz-up a little bit, so any advice would be welcomed. Thanks guys. Here's the link Oh, and I'm the manager/coach of the Woodhouse Colts Yellow U10 team in Under 10's Divsion 2 btw. :-)
  4. As long as you're indexing the correct columns, the number of rows shouldn't really matter.

Awesome screens! Nice site too, BlueDreamer - Expression Engine, I presume?

I've been gazing longingly at a 50" one (does that sound rude?), in Comet. The picture quality is superb, much better than LCD or Plasma, in my opinion. The price is quite prohibitive at the moment, however and this maybe why the uptake has not been as quick.

Has anybody got a 1080p LED tv yet?
  13. Hmm, yes. I am in desperate need to update mine and all of the comments on here are so familiar to me! I'm going to take slim's advice and see where that gets me.

  15. Hi Shane, Can you post the exact error here? I do know that you need to deploy your ASP.NET website as a Web Application in a partially trusted environement (which I suspect your host is running as). Try re-creating your site as a Web Application rather than a Web Site and re-publish it.
  16. Notbanksy, can you post up the error that you're getting?
  17. Is it old-style ASP or ASP.NET Stevo? If ASP.NET, you can use Server.Transfer(url, true) to redirect to the new page and the URL will stay the same......although thinking about it, you may not be able to do that cross-domain.....scratch that one then! Soz. :-D

I'm doing the same thing now in all of my projects. If we stick together, IE6 will be buried!! Mwah hah hah!

Boo! We're still forced to use it in my workplace unfortunately!! Then again, we're still on Windows 2000! :-(

Lifted from the Industry News section on page 15 of the latest issue of .NET Mag:-- "The war on IE6 has a new combatant: Google. IE6 users visiting You Tube are seeing messages that You Tube will soon stop supporting their browser, and suggesting they upgrade to IE8, Chrome, Firefox, Chrome, Chrome or Chrome. Other sites, such as Digg, also intend to stop support". Hooray and ha-zaar!
  22. You certainly don't want to create a separate DB for each user! What happens if you get say 1000 users (each with their own DB) and then you need to alter the schema? You'd have to do it 1000 times. Try and structure the data properly in different tables and use Foreign Keys to reference them. For example:- USERS Table has a Primary Key column for UserId, then columns for Name, Money etc. FEATURES Table has a Primary Key column for FeatureId, then columns for FeatureName etc. USERS_FEATURES table has two columns: UserId and FeatureId. These are Foreign Keys to the respective ids in the USERS and FEATURES tables. You can then write a piece of SQL like this: SELECT f.FeatureName FROM Features f, Users_Features uf WHERE f.FeatureId=uf.FeatureId AND uf.UserId=1 This would then return a list of Features that User 1 has signed up to. This link may help.
  23. Hi Martin, I am currently working on a site for something very similar - my initial research led me to think about using Expression Engine for it. However, as brilliant as EE is, getting the League Tables and Fixtures generated dynamically looked to be quite complicated for me to do as I've not got any experience with PHP. In the end I decided to write my own CMS in C# (.NET), specifically for this new project. However, any CMS worth it's salt will be able to let you construct pages for your blog, news, articles, profiles etc very easily. I'd take a look at EE for that - it's not free but it is very powerful and the cost is not prohibitive. If you want dynamic league tables, then you're going to have to fit a DB and some sort of scripting into it (MYSQL/PHP or SQL Server/.NET). I'm on quite a short deadline for my project and so have stuck to what I know and that's .NET. Heres a link to Expression Engine. Hope this helps.
