C# is awesome! Just my opinion.

Deleting stuff in one table if they don't exist in another
DELETE FROM Orders o WHERE o.User_ID NOT IN (SELECT DISTINCT(User_ID) FROM Users) ...should do the trick.

Taking Payments for hosting on reseller account
I get mine to pay via BACS directly into the company bank account - no hassle with it so far.

UK based ASP Hosting
The key with it really is to make sure that you create a Web Application rather than a Web Site in Visual Web Developer Express. A Web Site in .NET compiles on the fly and Entity Framework classes, for example, cannot do this in a partially trusted environment. With a Web Application, everything is pre-compiled and so this is not a problem.

UK based ASP Hosting
I can certainly vouch for CS New Media, I opened a hosting account with them yesterday. My domain was visible on the internet within an hour, with .NET 3.5 SP1 (I use Entity Framework heavily (which is brilliant, btw)) and a SQL Server 2008 DB! Absolutely 1st class and top notch.

Not sure I'd admit to that on a public forum, buddy!?

If you need an environment to simply learn new stuff in, why not check out the Microsoft Development Platform tools. You can install everything you need on your own computer and have a nice IDE, access to SQL Server Management Studio and a web server. I know Microsoft get a hard time in some quarters, but I really can't fault their Express editions - great freebies. Link

Your Favourite Browser
Safari for me, no browser renders fonts better in my (limited) experience. Oh, and I'm a Windows user, not Mac.

Negitive reputation?
Hi Ben, Can you tell in the backend the number of times a user has +1 themselves? If so, you could just subtract that number from their total to give a fairer reflection. Just my 2p.

Smashing Magazine - The Manual!
Now I think that SmashingMagazine.com is a fantastic website for ideas, tutorials and basic inspiration. They are bringing a book out in September which I think will be a must-have for me personally. If anybody is interested, you can pre-order the book from here Mods: Wasn't sure where to post this, please feel free to move it to a more suitable area.

Website Relaunch
It is a fantastic site. I really like it. The only thing I'd change is to agree with wizely's suggestion and make the font ever so slightly bigger and a tad darker. Great work!

Kids Football League Website
Hello again Eris, Good guess! Weird how different people work differently - I like to get the header nailed before I move on to the good stuff. Everytime I look at the site whilst I'm working on it, if the header's not correct, it just bugs me! Different strokes for different folks, as they say. You do give some great advice in your post, having said that. Once I've sorted out where I'm going to host it, I'll post the link up so that you can give it a good old going over!

Kids Football League Website
Hadn't thought about that....however, the flaw in that plan is the sentence "if your Flash skills are up to it" . lol. Also, if the client wants to change anything after the 30 day period, I'd be a bit stuck.

Kids Football League Website
Hi! Thanks for that comment. To be honest, I'm designing at 1024 x 768, and I think that the height of the header is just about ok. The logo that I've got to work with is not a vector graphic, so it's not scaling too well I'm afraid. RE the Flash, unfortunately, my budget hasn't quite stretched that far to be able to buy the software and being the responsible person that I am, I won't entertain "acquiring" a "back-up" copy from somebody else - just the principles I live by tbh. Cheers.

Kids Football League Website
Hi David, It's a website for a league, rather than a particular club. Thanks for the suggestion, though. That's a nice site isn't it?

Kids Football League Website
Ok, here's my next effort. I still need to do a footer.

Kids Football League Website
Hello Eris, Many thanks for your critique, it's very much appreciated. You make some great points, I have been struggling with the header tbh, although I've only been at it for a few hours. Yes, the logo is really all I have to work with at this point. I'll have another stab at the header when I get back home from work tonight - time to have a flick through my Web Designers Ideas Book, methinks! Thanks again. PS - Can you guess from the league table which Under 9 team I manage!? :-)

Kids Football League Website
Hi all, Well, this is my first attempt at the League Table page in my new project. Unfortunately, it's only a screen shot as I've not sorted out any Windows hosting yet (the project is being written in ASP.NET C#) but I'd be grateful for any comments on the design thus far. Thank you.

Site Header
Thanks so much for your advice. I'm still getting to grips with PS Elements. I've removed the glow from the logo as I think it was a bit of overkill and matched the layer style for the shadow to the one on the text layer.

Site Header
Thanks for your reply. How about this one...added some shadow and some glow to the logo and text, and changed the font of the text (I'm not sure what the font is for the logo, btw).

Site Header
Hi all, Can I have your feedback please on this header that I've quickly knocked up from a stock image and the clients logo. I'm not too sure about the "Let the Children Play" text. TIA
