  1. Different search engines have a way to compute the number of links which they think is important. If I were you, I would focus on developing the website rather than making a comparison and trying to find an answer on why the numbers don't tally.

Dizi actually stressed a good point. I don't think that the number of blogs will become an issue. It is the low quality of blogs that are filling the internet. I think most will agree that.
  3. There is no accurate and exact way of telling. You can get rough estimation though by using alexa rank but it might be wrong sometimes. Another way is to find out which keywords the website is ranked for. There are online tools for it. Google and you will find.
  4. You can actually split up the revenue based on the number of projects completed by each individual. Depends on whether you have a tight schedule, you can actually work up an agreement to share the tasks together and get a fair split. For marketing and promotion, each individual can contribute the same amount for it. That's the only way which I can think of.
  5. Overall, looks fine to me. Fast loading time, pleasing layout and design with nice use of colors.
  6. I've tried promoting before on youtube but it never reach up to that point of receiving thousands of views like some others get in a month. But it's still worth trying though considering the fact that there are so many people that participate in it. What you really need is a viral one, just one is enough.
  7. They keep on slashing the fee even though those are already pennies and they squeeze and bargain until you are so desperate for the project. That is what I hate the most.
  8. Well, good luck. I do hope to see such a site created someday with all the issues being well sorted out. The thing is that the problems which you've mentioned here is just the tip of iceberg. I agree that it's rather unfair that the middle person does not claim any responsibility on their part. Once, I did suggest the idea of creating a deposit (something like safe fund) in which the money is used as an assurance. After the deal ended with both parties being happy the fund will be returned.
  9. I think it's a great idea to get people to stick around, contribute and participate in the forum. Look forward to see the thing being done
  10. The thing is that with google, it will always be full of surprises. From time to time, they will be changing their algo and the next thing, you might be wondering what you've done wrong. Happens to me as well.
  11. I would use the word "inspired by" and relates it to the original theme creator. I don't see anything controversial with this unless you are claiming that it is solely your idea, which is not obviously.
  12. By simple terms, it depends on where you point the link to and whether doing so will enhance the quality and readability of your content. Some high rank website do point to other url and still manage to sit on top, so that must mean it is okay.
  13. There's quite a number of web directories in the list that fits into the category. What you need to do is to type in "list of article directories" in google and there you have it.
  14. If it's not broken, then try not to fix it. That is what I always believe, plus try not to create a duplicate site. Having identical content will not contribute and make things better.
  15. LOL. This one is also my favorite. It will be quite difficult to really explain to them. It's the same question again and again from my mom
  16. If you are really serious about taking your blog hobby towards the next level, I would suggest you get your own domain name. Having a blogspot will not take you far anywhere as not having your own domain name will imply and make it sound unprofessional. I've learned my lesson on that. SEO wise, it is also better without having the blogspot.
  17. I think there are many factors that affect the choice of browsers. I don't know whether you agree but generally, what I notice is that tech geeks seem to prefer Firefox and Safari
  18. Much more than that.. Of course you enjoy yourself spending your time participating in forums, you get to interact to people around the world, sharing experience and best of all knowledge.
  19. I think I will go along with the idea of using your name. If top brands related to fashion like handbags and shoes, take for example, LV and Jimmy Choo, using their names can become successful, I don't see why you can't.
  20. Pretty neat. I didn't realize there are so many CMS platforms available which we can choose.
  21. The most that I ever paid for a domain is just the original domain registration price. I wouldn't consider paying more unless it is something that I really like (or desperately like). But I guess in your case on acquiring a domain similar with your business registration, then that is a different scenario. Anyway, there are still quite a number of domains with different keyword combination that you still can use.
  22. I agree. I don't think there is any way to search for sites copying your web design. You can't check just by comparing the codes because as mentioned of Seattle, there are so many ways to code differently.
  23. Maybe use of different colors can make some impression compared the plain black and white theme. That also depends on your niche though but generally I always prefer simple and light toned colors.
  24. Personally, I don't see age being an obstacle or barrier towards your career or even your online internet start up. The only obstacle which you have to overcome is yourself having the sense of insecurity.
  25. The only way that I know on how to continue to maintain your enthusiasm is to develop passion and interest towards the work.
