October 7, 201213 yr Hi Guys, I have finished the development of my new website, please could you provide some feedback on the design and anything that I should change, I would be very grateful! The site is, benwhitedesign.co.uk Many Thanks, Ben
October 7, 201213 yr It's looking alright, still a bit skeptical about some of the homepage aspects (i.e. the speech bubble not sharing the same colour as anything else), but its improved a lot since the first screenshot I saw when you first designed it. However, you still haven't made the social icons work. This may be me being nitpicky but on the About me page, the square icons look as if they are floating above the text, I recommend vertically centring them with the text and increasing there horizontal space by a few pixels. Now to the good points, the new logo type looks a lot nicer, and the single page portfolio as opposed to the previous paged one is a big improvement, the text is mainly readable and it generally looks reasonably nice.
October 7, 201213 yr Grammar is pretty poor, almost comes across as being written by someone whose first language isnt English? For example: 'All my work comply with the latest web standards they are elegant and are hand coded in CSS and XHTML.' There's a fair few other simple mistakes as well. I do like the overall design though, just need to double check your written content, if it's not your strong point get someone else to check it.
October 8, 201213 yr I like the logo (actually the font). If it goes about code - check your site in Firefox. I see mistakes at the right column.
October 8, 201213 yr I think the slideshow takes up quite a bit of room, meaning more scrolling of the page before the main content can be read. Agree with Tommo about the speech bubble too Edited October 8, 201213 yr by mylocaltrades
October 8, 201213 yr Big green 'contact me' button should be a sprite. That would stop the flicker on hover.
October 8, 201213 yr It is good if you ask me . One minor point i found is that the testimonials at the bottom (i suppose those are js or jquery) switch a bit too fast so u can't read them completely. (This can be due to my reading speed but just wanna let you know) Also the Contact button that was criticized earlier, maybe you can use css3 to create the shape? You can use gradients aswel in css 3.
October 8, 201213 yr Drop the dropshadow on the image rotation. Your site is going clean and crip, I'd say that drop shadow holds it back.
October 22, 201213 yr Your testimonial widget's content is barely unreadble, you need to adjust its font color to increase text's readibility.
