November 26, 20205 yr Hi there I've been learning a bit of html & css and have been making some web pages... complete noob though. I already have a website that I made previously using wordpress with my design work on it. Soon I am going to want to put together a portfolio for the web design stuff I've made, but wondering if there's a way to upload my html/ css without paying (as obviously this will build up in price the more I do). Is there some kind of way to do this/ anywhere to find this kind of information? - because I'm not having much luck finding an answer. Thanks!
November 26, 20205 yr Hi Dino A simple way to do this would be to use sub.domains instead of new domains, if you dont want the expense of registering seperate domain names. So if you have "dinosaur.com" as your main website, you might then setup "coffeeshop.dinosaur.com" to showcase your coffee shop website example(s) you have built. You should be able to setup unlimited amounts of sub.domains, and only need to pay for the actual resources you use, such as space and traffic, so your hosting plan can/will grow anyway, its just a matter of if you want the websites to be seperated, preventing them from causing each other any problems or do you want them all under 1 control panel and hosting plan.
November 27, 20205 yr Author Hi Wesh Thanks so much for your answer! I'm just getting started so a point in the right direction is very helpful and I'll have a good look into sub domains now. Have a nice weekend!
November 27, 20205 yr if you have a website already why not add a portfolio section to that or expand the one you have to include the web design examples?
November 28, 20205 yr Create a new folder in your site root directory called ‘portfolio’. Then create a folder for each project and upload the files. You can now just link to these folders from your main site. No need for sub domains.
