Rawkes is live!

Rawkes has finally gone live! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone gave about the redesign in the reviews area, it helped immensely.

I'd like to thank Wizely for taking the time to go through my content, without him the website would be half of what it is right now.

After 3 months of hard work I'm not sure what to do with myself now!

WOOHOO Congrats Rob, excellent, excellent website!

Thanks (again) everyone. It really makes the hard work worthwhile when I hear things like that! :)

I know there isn't much yet, but if you subscribe to the blog feed there will be some pretty cool posts coming up in the future ;)

I'm so happy now, especially now that you have made it official ;) It looks amazing and all the little details are purely amazing. This was well worth the wait and I am still so very jealous :)

Well don't be, I absolutely love your website. You have nothing to be jealous over!

I'm still a bit overwhelmed by the warm welcome the redesign has received!

I have to say this is quite possibly one of the worst websites I've ever seen in my life.

Excellent stuff Rob - are you really a space cadet?

I am indeed, I have the certificate to prove it! :flm12:

It looks excellent - well done. :hi:

My only suggestion is add a telephone number as a method of contact too.

Thank you.

The phone number would be a good idea, but I don't want people ringing my mobile. Plus I can't justify carrying a second phone around.

Like I told you on gchat! I love the site man! Absolutely amazing!

Wow Rob GREAT work, ( to bad the top corners arent rounded :p ) this means i wont be entering a WOTM soon :p

it's beautiful, Rob. The only thing is, I'm having terrible trouble reading your navigation links :(

Thanks for bringing this up, I'm looking into it.

I've made the navigation bold as a temporary measure. Is it any better now?

Thanks ElanMan!

I'll let the screenshot do the talking :)

Now that would be telling! *cough* points towards the other side of the world *cough*

Very nice work Rob.

A few questions - did you draw, create the space craft and other 'sketches' etc your self? If so they are fantastic.

Were you inspired by either the current 02/Vodaphone (can't recall which) or a Starbucks Xmas campaign...it brings both to mind.

It all reads very nicely, navigates well and comes together as a whole.

Love the drawings at top of blog and about pages.

:flm7:

Well done on launching Rawkes - it's a great site!

My only advice is to get rid of all those graphics and let the copy shine through!!!!! ;)

I'm glad it's a hit with everyone because you've 'bust your left nut' on getting it live!

:yahoo:

I love it! Would like to see more in the portfolio though. I subscribed to your blog-can't wait to see some good blog material!

Congratulation. It's been a long long time :pp

Did manage to find one tiny pixel bug :o Your footer has a 1 pixel offset at certain screen widths.

Why are you using feedburner??? wordpress has RSS bulit in

Feedburner is excellent for tracking the subscription statistics, amongst other things.

I did indeed draw those sketches myself, thank you for the kind words about them!

I wasn't inspired by any of those. One commercial that looks similar is the Carphone Warehouse one where you get a free laptop.

I couldn't have done this without you... well, I could've but it would have been let down by the content!

Thank you so much Wizely.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll have a look into it!

Ah that could be the one, was defo a mobile phone campaign I saw recently (and being a bit of a mobile phone hater I'd never recall which one), think it used a similar blue bg with something like a flash memory stick or phone being launched.

Great work with the sketches as mentioned.

Suggestion - (gotta work of my jealousy some how!) - I'm not convinced by using the very stretched landscape image in the 'lightbox' type folio display. Firstly it counters your vertical flow and secondly it somehow just seems too wide...

Wize the copy is superb (and that's from someone who is naturally alright pathologically averse to any attempt at branding subtle, obvious or otherwise).....

Good point well made. DOOM ON GRAPHICS!

lmao, I'm not submitting my site for website of the month until this one is out of the way!

Nice work mate :)

My one gripe is that you need javascript to see the copyright information - which renders your copyright notice useless because if it DID come down to it, anyone using your content could say there was no copyright information available to them.

Personally I'd just do it with CSS :)

Other than that, as previously mentioned - awsome site :) very clean. Makes me want to scrap my current redesign.. lol
