Nice work mate My one gripe is that you need javascript to see the copyright information - which renders your copyright notice useless because if it DID come down to it, anyone using your content could say there was no copyright information available to them. Personally I'd just do it with CSS Other than that, as previously mentioned - awsome site very clean. Makes me want to scrap my current redesign.. lol If there is no javascript then the copyright notice will appear down there as a static element. It's only hidden when Javascript is available. (Apologies for the blunt reply, I'm still at work)
May 28, 200818 yr it does not... i have seen it.. i just assumed you had no message down there... but when i enabled scripts from some other site (not yours) it showed up EDIT - have you fixed it.. as it does appear with scripts blocked now... it did not before
May 29, 200818 yr Congrats Rob. As I've said before, the site is amazing. The graphics look brilliant, and the copy is spot on. Just a quick note, I'm not seeing any copyright information at all. (Although that could just be my computer being stupid...) Keep up the good work! **EDIT** OK, it was just my computer. Checked it on another one, and is fine. Congrats again!

May 31, 200818 yr Author Thanks again for all the lovely comments! As for the copyright message: I haven't touched it or changed a thing, so I'm quite perplexed as to why it wasn't working. Glad to hear it's all fully functional now though. I'm preparing a new post for the blog, you'll definitely want to keep an eye out for it if you use a Mac, are thinking of getting one – or even if you just like a good read!

How many paintings have you seen with "©" on 'em? I saw an advert last week with a similar rocket feeling - can't remember what it was now, but as soon as I saw it, I thought "Rawkes".. the power of branding! Oh and Rob - get me added on Twitter..
June 8, 200818 yr Copyright notices Although notices are not a requirement under the Berne Convention, (which states that copyright is automatic, whether you mark your work or not), it was a requirement of some countries covered under the Universal Copyright Convention (UCC). It is strongly recommended that you properly mark your work as the use of notices will make it clear that copyright exists, and help to deter infringement. Please see our fact sheet P-03: Using copyright notices for information on wording you notices. Websites are particularly open to abuse, especially theft of content and images. You should assume that files will be accessed randomly, downloaded as individual chunks, and distributed out of context. It is therefore important to include a copyright notice on as many individually deliverable items as possible: * Image file properties should include a notice. Under Windows for example, right clicking on a image will allow you to bring up the properties dialogue where you may enter details about the file, (though this will only work with certain file types). More typically, your image software will provide a way to insert comments into the file; this is preferred as these are harder to remove. * Every page should contain a notice in the visible text (text shown on screen), or at least link to your notice in the body of the page.
