what is difference between Dofollow and no follow links ?

Featured Replies

Do follow links also share "link juice." They are considered a vote for the other site to be reputable and quality.

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only Humans will be able to follow the links.

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you. The best way to give someone dofollow is allowing keyword in the anchor text. This means when you are linking to any website or page, use the targeted keyword as anchor text.

The nofollow attribute should be added to links if they're unrelated to your site content or are paid/sponsored links, or similar (e.g. it's a site you're writing a bad review on, or it's a forum you want to reduce spam on).

The Websites Will having the Page Authority and Domain Authority are high That Sites are called as Dofollow Sites. The page authority and domain authority are poor that websites are Nofollow sites

The Links will get from Dofollow sites,That link is treated as Dofollow links.

The Links will get from nofollow sites,That link is treated as Nofollow links.

No Follow has no visibility whereas Do follow has the good visibility.

No Follow
Link which contain Rel=”nofollow” it mean that the link is nofollow and these types of links does not improve seo ranking and no link juice is passed. But that does not mean that these links are useless. You can still get some quality traffic from these also.

Do Follow
By default every link is dofollow, link which does not contain Rel=”Nofollow” Attribute is dofollow and these are considered to be the most powerful links for any websites. If this links is do follow then search engines will follows the link and so link juice gets passed.

dofollow links allows search engine bots to reach our website this is done by giving hyperlinks to our keywords.

Do follow Links – This links allow google to follow them and reach our website by giving us link juice and backlink.

No follow links – This do not allow search engine bots to follow link. If the website owner is linking back to you with no follow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. You can use no follow links wherever you don’t want to pass link-juice.

What is a Follow Link?

To really understand what is going on with follow vs. no follow links, we need to provide a bit of background about how most links work in the realm of SEO. When a site page gets an inbound link, which is a hyperlink pointing to that page, the page gets a small SEO boost. Think of a link as a point, and the more links you have, the more points. More Points = Winning, like Charlie Sheen.

Google takes note of these points, watching how many inbound links a page has and from what sites. Google figures, hey, if a lot of people are linking to a certain page, it must be a really good page! Let’s give preference in our search engines to that page over others of a similar topic so we can easily deliver the very best pages to our search engine users.

Google created a metric called PageRank to calculate the link points. Many SEO folks refer to link points as “link juice.” The link juice flows through sites and into new sites through hyperlinks. The more reputable the site, the bigger boost of link juice the linked-to site gets. Getting a link from the New York Times or BBC is pure gold!

Now we can define a follow link – Follow links are links that count as points, pushing SEO link juice and boosting the page rank of the linked-to sites, helping them go higher in the SERPs as a result.

What is a No Follow Link?

A no follow link is a link that does not count as a point in the page’s favor, does not boost PageRank, and doesn’t help a page’s placement in the SERPs. No follow links get no love. Theirs is a sad and lonely life.

A no follow link is created with the nofollow link HTML tag, which looks like this:

<a href=” rel=”nofollow”>Link Text</a>

The nofollow tag is basically a notice sign for search engines saying “don’t count this.”

Isn’t that just mean and terrible? Why would anyone do such a thing? There’s a reason for the nofollow attribute, and boy is it a good one!

In this Dofollow link, Link Juice will Pass to other site which will help us to improve seo ranking. And the crawler can crawl this link and it can go to the other website or blog which url is hyperlinked.

Nofollow link will not allow crawler to crawl the website or blog and it will not pass link juice anymore still it can drive quality traffic to your site.

Nofollow link: In nofollow link Google bot won't crawl the link and won't pass any link juice.

Dofollow link: Dofollow link passes link juice and they definitely help you much, in order to achieve better page rank.

No-Follow Links:

Non crawling links are called No-Follow links are called. These links not passed through the search engine bots. That’s why these links are not index.

These links not help to our site. The reason is these links does not exchange from our site to another site.

Do-Follow links:

Do-Follow links like hyper links. These links passed through search engine bots and it’s an impact over page rank.

These links helps to our site. The reason is these links exchange from our site to another site.

Since people have already talked a lot about the difference between No-follow and Do-follow link, I would not say anything but provide a quick tool for you to check whether it is a No-follow or Do-follow or not. You can add the extension SEOquake of Google Chrome. It is free, and it would immediately classify the No-follow and Do-follow link for you.

After all, it's not just about what we understand about the difference. We should know how to apply the knowledge into practices, right? xD

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only Humans will be able to follow the links. Though some time back Google made it clear that they don’t consider nofollow link attributes but weightage of such links are really less. Even though, it’s a good practice to use Nofollow link attribute to those link, where you don’t want to pass link-juice.

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you. The best way to give someone dofollow love is allowing keyword in the anchor text. This means when you are linking to any website or page, use the targeted keyword as anchor text.

no-follow links do not have any SEO value, and they will not add up to the link profile that search engines use to evaluate when ranking websites. A do-follow link, on the other hand, is a link that will pass on the SEO benefits of the website where it is built from to the hyperlinked site. This is the type of backlink that link builders will create for SEO purposes. A dofollow link will pass the SEO strength, or "PageRank" of the page to the site that it links to. A nofollow link, in theory, will not do this. That's the main difference between the two.

Please don't get confused in the difference of Do Follow and No Follow links because do follow and no follow are the important factor in to decide any website backlinks in SEO. In very Simple and short way just remember that:-

Do Follow links are those links which create backlinks for your website and share your website link to other sites. while on the other hand, No Follow links are those links which accept your links but never share your website link to any other website.

There is no value "dofollow" for the REL attribute.

For what it's worth here are the possible (correct) values:

alternate
author
bookmark
external
help
license
next
nofollow
noreferrer
noopener
prev
search
tag

NoFollow does not allow google to crawl to webpage, this attribute is often used to instruct the search engine bots that the target link should not be affected by the hyperlink.

DoFollow allows search engines to follow and reach the webpage. The best way to present the Dofollow is allowing keyword in the anchor text.

nofollow links means those links which you don't want to pass link juice.

Dofollow links means its allows google to search and reach our website and follow them. if a webmaster is linking back it means both search engine and humans can get back to you as it appears in SERP.

Can a mod please lock this thread! It's like there's an echo in here which has been copied and pasted, no wonder our industry gets a bad name, s*it like 'dofollow' WTF!

Consider it done
