September 23, 20223 yr Hello, I use Ahrefs for SEO research. Hostgator appears to have a block on it because when Ahref tries calling a domain name hosting on hostgator I recieve this error message: The HTTP server returned error 406: "Not Acceptable". This request was likely filtered by a firewall. This website is protected by the ModSecurity firewall 2 Spent many hours on the phone trying to sort it out & only fixed one. Does anyone know of a Hosting Provider that dosen't block AhrefBots ? Thank You so much if you know one! Best!
September 23, 20223 yr Get your own server or VPS and there are no blocks. You are being blocked because you are using shared hosting. That being said, ahrefs and most other tools return inaccurate data. Run some tests on your own site and compare to your analytics and you will see all sorts of discrepancies.

Thank you for the advice Yea you recieve different data from each source. I find you have to a avg of them all.

Especially the one that tells you the clicks vs impression % on any given kw. I dont think that information is readily available for free. If there is a way to get it free or by a different method please let me know. Thank you
September 26, 20223 yr Those tools as not accurate. They guess the numbers. They also miss out out on long tail which is the most lucrative area of SEO.
November 4, 20223 yr You can use pvt or dedicated server. So shared hosting like hosting, hosgator, namecheap, blue host doesn't allow it. However, there are some hosting providers that works best with Ahrefs tool. You can shift your existing site or start the new one. Site web gratuit Suisse is another great option with free website creation.
