August 8, 201313 yr Yes, Wordpress is suitable for small stores. I am just about to start work on one myself, using http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce/
August 8, 201313 yr YES, wordpress is able to create any kind of websites including e-commerce sites.
August 9, 201313 yr Yes, you can create Ecommece websites using wordpress if you have good knowledge of wordpress.
August 10, 201313 yr as the other three YES you can. possibly think of security issues that you may have before deploying it to the web though
August 13, 201312 yr Yes you can make ecommerce website in wordpress for example you can use wp e-commerce and Woocommerce plugin but as I know it is better to use a self hosted ecommerce application like Pinnacle cart yummy, zen cart, shopify and etc because they got lots of features and they are easy to handle with proffessional support so they will make a proffessional online shop for you with better security that is the most important thing to get your customers satsified. August 14, 201312 yr If you have an eCommerce site then wordpress is best, not just because of free plugin, but also for google page ranking.
August 14, 201312 yr Just to be negative: don't forget that WP is the target of a massive amount of hackers. Domains are regularly tested by bots to learn what versions of WP are running, so that the second a major security hole is discovered....... So if you're using it for e-commerce, keep your eyes open and keep everything updated - make sure you follow great security practices!
August 14, 201312 yr If you have an eCommerce site then wordpress is best, not just because of free plugin, but also for google page ranking. Nonsense.
April 22, 201412 yr Sure you can, as long as you know how to customize WordPress theme, you only need a good theme to make an eCommerce site. And there are many free themes and premium themes in the WordPress.Org. So, it is not difficult to create an eCommerce site with WordPress
May 16, 201412 yr Like others, Yes you can create in wordpress if it is a small store. But for security reasons, I personally prefer to look in to some other platforms too which are available in the market with good response/feedbacks including, Os commerce, Opencart, Prestashop, Shopify, Zencart etc... Anyways good luck! choose the best one...
May 28, 201412 yr Offcourse you can create ecommerce websites with wordpress. But if the site is a huge one I would suggest Magento. Cheers! Barry
June 19, 201412 yr From my point of view, Magento is the best option for eCommerce website. You need to create eCommerce website in Magento rather than Wordpress. This is my personal opinion.
June 19, 201412 yr No. Wordpress was built to make blogging easy. There are plugins to do it but they are plugins all the same. Use Magento or Joomla or something with some more oopmh under the hood.
June 20, 201412 yr Do not use Joomla it's horrible to work with. WordPress has evolved way beyond just being a blogging platform. We have built some big, high traffic multinational sites with WordPress, New York Times is a WP site. If you know what you're doing you don't need to use any plugins. Some of them however are very nice and speed up the development time such as Advanced Custom Fields, unfortunately there are a lot of bad plugins out there. That said I don't think WordPress is the best platform for a shop. There are many options available Magento being one of the most popular but might be overkill for a basic store.

August 18, 201411 yr Hi, Well i suggest you to go with WordPress. WordPress is very easy to use and has an intuitive interface. WordPress is browser-based. You can login from any Internet connected computer and manage your site. Also,WordPress is a self-contained system and does not require HTML editing software. October 15, 201411 yr Hello Friends, I create an Ecommerce website in wordpress. So please suggests me wordpress is suitable for this or not. Please give your view. WP e-commerce plugin is the answer, WP e-Commerce is the most well-liked, most robust e-commerce plugin for WordPress and is the perfect way to put up for sale products, downloads or services on the web. Whether you are setting up a WordPress Web Store for yourself or are a WordPress developer setting up a E-store for a client, WP e-Commerce offers the most features and capabilities of any E-Store plugin.

Whether you are setting up a WordPress Web Store for yourself or are a WordPress developer setting up a E-store for a client, WP e-Commerce offers the most features and capabilities of any E-Store plugin. I'd say Woocommerce is stronger on all those fronts than WP e-Commerce And both of these pale in comparrison to a fully fledged ecommerce solution such as Magento.
March 18, 201511 yr Ofcourse, you can create any kind of website in wordpress including e-commerce sites also. You can add the ecommerce functionality to WordPress with the help of plugin. Plugins are separate pieces of software that you install and activate into WordPress that basically adds to what it can do. Mostly used plugin for E-commerce websites are: Cart66 Lite EShop Plugin Jigoshop But joomla is the best CMS for creating the E-commerce related sites.

I'd advise against Joomla in any new build.
March 20, 201511 yr I thought they only used WP for their blogs, but in a modified way ...http://scotty-t.com/2014/01/15/rethinking-blogs-at-the-new-york-times/ The main site is a Java app.
April 9, 201511 yr WordPress is also good for eCommerce websites, but i think it would be better if you go for Magento. Edited April 9, 201511 yr by thuybk
